  • Mysterious sharp, stabbing rectal spasms (made worse by BB/RKs)

    Hi all,

About a month ago I started experiencing sudden, sharp spasms in my rectal area. I had been experiencing barely-noticeable, electric-shock twitches in the PF and genitals for a couple months, but these were different. The spasms last a second or less and occur mainly in the rectal area, but on worse days I've also experienced them in the penis shaft and perineum. As well as the painful spasms, I've also experiencing a slight HF a lot of the time and occasionally a general ache in the PF area.

A couple days after these symptoms began, I saw a PF PT. Through examination she found that my rear PF floor muscles were supremely tight and she instructed me to buy a therawand to loosen up the muscles. I've been using the Therawand for weeks with no improvement. In fact, sometimes it has made the spasms worse (particularly after longer sessions).

    DETAILS ABOUT MY PF
    • I had been masturbating frequently for months and months leading up to this pain and both my PC and BC muscles contract involuntarily during any form of sex/masturbation. However, the spasms did not suddenly appear one day. They slowly manifested over the course of a few days.
    • I have been suffering from PreE for as long as I can remember. Definitely a result of bad masturbation habits (clenching PC muscle to reach PONR faster).

    DETAILS ABOUT THE PAIN
    • Applying a heat pack calms the spasms down.
    • Light massaging with a Therawand relieves the spasms for a bit.
    • The spasms tend to get worse with sitting down.
    • The spasms DO NOT wake me in the night.
    • I am able to partially relax the slight HF if I consciously "drop" my pelvic floor as if to begin urinating.
    • Doing Hans' belly breath RKs makes the spasms worse and more frequent. As far as I can tell, I am doing them correctly. I am not consciously pushing my anus and PF out. However, because of the yoga position and belly-breathing, the anus and PF do gently expand outwards on their own.

Is this a PC muscle sprain from overuse? Am I simply doing Hans' belly-breath combos incorrectly by doing too much?Any help would be much appreciated. The original PT I saw is somewhat useless, as she doesn't believe that any form of yoga or diaphragmatic breathing will help me. And it's months before I can get in to see another PF PT as they are all booked far in advance.

Did you think about maybe seeing a doctor?

I've seen my family doctor multiple times regarding this, he has no idea what it could be. And like I said, the original PF PT I saw isn't sure either. Still waiting to get in to see another PF PT.

I've booked appointments with a gastroenterologist and urologist but they're both not until next year. It was the soonest I could get.

Vancouver, BC. When I say next year I mean January and February. But yeah, all specialists here tend to be busy as hell.

Well then let's hope it's nothing serious then. Great system of healthcare huh?
