  • Can spinal cord injury cause erectile problems ?!

    Each urologist which I've been to, did not test anything regarding my spine;

But I've read numerous studies proving that the spine can alter erections. Yet, how can we test if we have problems with the spinal cord ?

Are there any tests to see if there is a spinal cord injury on any vertebrae ?

This question popped up in my head as I wake up for let's say an year with my fingers numb, paralised... for some reason and I suspect the spinal cord.

    Thaks

Sometimes, I have slept with my arm in a position where either circulation was restricted or pressure on certain areas (pinched nerves ? ) and the result was numbness/tingling. Never thought it was a spinal thing.

yes you see a specialist and they have various ways of testing including imaging such as MRI as well as nervous response testing

Have you suffered from a spinal cord injury (esp. to the sacral area)? You'd very likely have other serious issues like paralysis, if you did.

          No , never .

I was suspecting a mild injury of it that would not cause paralysis but ED

In reviewing your threads, they read like they're written by one who may be suffering from penis-specific hypochondriasis. The anxiety of thinking something is wrong can in and of itself cause harm.

So it must be a physical injury and not a mental condition!

Your distress is understandable but it's complicated by your attempts at self-diagnosis.

If you suspect a neurological issue (regarding your fingers, etc.) you'll need to seek out a neurologist. This is assuming the issue isn't being caused by something less ominous- like sleeping positions.

Davis Carter, have you tried physio? You mentioned your injury healed right? 3 things to keep in mind, erectile medication, abstinance/ rest, no more pe.

I've been pretty self conscious about my injury too. I've read the reports/ news about tight pelvises but in no where does it list as one of the options for Ed is due to injury.

They told me just keep taking Cialis if it helps in my case. The other day I suffered from a pinched left ventricle which tells me what? The injury is still fresh after a month and a half of not touching it.

Listen, I have a appointment with a pelvic floor specialist next week that I probably will keep. At anytime you can withdraw your consent to having you're penis searched. For a guy like me, over obsessed and fresh off a wound, I'm gonna act like a sunovabitch. The nerve I have: I'm gonna ask them the questions I want the answers to not some pull and tug contest so they drain my pockets.

I am not taking the standard testing. I'm gonna ask them to check my asshole to see what kind of surgery they did on me back there. I'm also gonna ask them if there is a scar from a vasectomy. I asked for one but it remains in the air whether it happened or not. I am also gonna ask them that I wouldn't mind pf treatment just not right now, it's too early. I believe in nipping the urological problems in the bud right now and worry about pelvis later.

It sounds extreme to pay the 130$ for some stupid answers, but I requested a copy of my files from my last hospital stay and they didn't include any surgeries. Which is weird because I no longer have hemorrhoids or irritable bowel syndrome. Also the only thing different in the ejaculate in a vasectomies man is 5 % less volume. So I'm gonna have to do a sperm test to really tell the truth.

My conclusion is that I'm not one to keep a grudge, but it's a test to see if I'm crazy or not. I cannot go back and fix the injuries unless I get a vasectomy reversal operation. The reason I'm saying all this is because it's worth it to be your own best advocate. Even if it pays off.

Btw, how did your appointment with the urologist go?
