  • Inconsistent erectile dysfunction. Advice needed.

I am 30 years old and live a sedentary lifestyle. I sit for at least 5-6 hours daily. I exercise at max 2 days per week. I masturbate once in 2 days are my erections are not great. When I have sex with my gf, I am not sufficiently hard for penetration 3 out of 4 times. 2 years back , I started having symptoms of pelvic floor tightness and I used to do reverse kegels , diaphragm breathing. These exercises improved pelvic floor stiffness symptoms, however it has made my core weak.

I do get very hard sometimes and also have morning erections. However, the frequency is low. I am having a low libido as well, as I am not very much into sex these days. Whenever I get horny, I watch porn and masturbate. I am unsure of the 'problem'. Is it tight pelvic floor? Is it core strength? Is it too much porn? Is it psychological reason that I am not attracted to my gf? How do I decide the root cause of the problem?

And what advice do you have for me? Which exercises should I do ?

So a hormone panel is a start point post the actual numbers here .

General health and fitness improvement seems to be a good idea ,

      What is the medical advice
      I suggest you quit porn.

It is hard to know the state of your pelvic floor over the net . If you feel you have relaxed it and now need strengthening you might consider Pilates.

Hi Aditya, the problem is that a) you don't have enough sexual energy and b) what little you have, you are wasting it on porn instead of sharing it with your partner.

I agree with the above poster, general health and lifestyle improvement. Learn about foods that support production of testosterone. A lot of people are deficient in vital nutrients and also have nutrient imbalances as well.

For fitness, I do HIIT 1-2x / week and full body resistance training 3x / week. I also use herbs to support healthy libido, but I think you should take a good look at your food intake.

You should find this recent post interesting from another member who is dealing with similar concerns:

          Hi Pegasus and BreakfastSausage,

That's true, hormone panel should be my starting point. Does just getting testosterone level checked up is enough or need to check more hormonal profiles?

I am trying to quit porn and of course engaging with partner is better but the confidence is quite low. I will surely include exercises in my daily life and post my results here.

Thanks for responding to my post guys.

          Cheers
          Aditya

Well estrogen is a good idea so you can check the ratio . If you had a good endo who could work out if there was an issue with complex interactions of multi hormones then a large panel might be a good idea . But they are very rare and bad reviews of the work of endo's are the norm .
Total testosterone and estrogen are what I will look at also free test if it is done by sensitive measure.

              Hi everyone,

So I don't want to be the guy who posts for help and then vanishes. I would be posting here everything regarding progress, failures etc.

I am still waiting for an appointment for my blood tests to get a stock of my hormonal situation. Following was my discussion with the doctor:

Doc: How long have you been facing this issue?
Me: It has been there for last 3 months, however in the past 2 months it has been very frequent.

Doc: Does it not rise at all or its completely non responsive?
Me: It does get hard but it is not enough for penetration.

Doc: Have you talked about this problem with your partner/wife?
Me: Yes, she is aware of the problem.

Doc: You are young to have an organic reason for this problem, are you too stressed or is something bothering you?
Me: I am not stressed as such, however since this problem has been there for some time. I want to know for sure if there is an organic reason. So it is best to have a medical evaluation.

Doc: Do you see any lumps around your area?
Me: No there are no lumps around that area.

Doc: Any past medical issue that you can tell us about?
Me: I had chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS), however I have had that 6 months back and now I am okay. My red blood cells were slightly de-shaped(I did not remember the exact medical term for it) and the doctor who told me this mentioned that it might be the onset of Anemia.

Doc: We will plan a blood test for you for testosterone, cholesterol, RBC counts etc. You will get the appointment soon.
              Me: Okay. Sounds good.

In the past 2 weeks I have been keeping off my penis. After 2 weeks of no activity, I started to feel horny at the end of 2 weeks. I tried to have sex, however I could not maintain the erection for sex. My morning erections was more frequent in the 2nd week.

In the next few weeks, I am going to try running, hiit and resistance training alternatively, and daily meditation. And I will post the results here.

Bro do kegels, just don't over do the kegels. Your PF is imbalanced on the loose side and needs to be balanced. Kegels are the answer.

                No straining of the PF.
You never slow down, you never grow old!

So my test results are out. Following are the results.

                    TSH. 1.89 mv/L
                    Total Cholesterol 5.4>. nmol/L
                    HDL Chol 0.99. nmol/L
                    Total Chol/HDL-CHOL. 5.40
                    Testosterone 13.1 nmol/L
                    AKI Not Available

RBC/WBC counts, sugar levels, minerals are also in normal range. Doctor says test results show that my blood profile is quite normal.

Kegels have helped. As suggested by Jay1983 I have been doing 30-50 kegels everyday. Have been able to have sex once in past one week. But still a long way to go to gain confidence and thus I will be incorporating more kegels and exercises. Will keep everyone posted.

                    Let me have your thoughts.

                    Cheers
                    Aditya

Your test might be normal as a doc would define it . I have written onsite repeatedly about this issue . I see you only got total test.

So your total test is average for an 80 year old and your dick is acting like it is 80 what a shock .

Okay, so how should the profile look like for a 30 year old guy. Can you redirect me to one of your posts?

I only got a total test as suggested by my urologist. What other tests would complete this?

Okay . First of all thanks for throwing the light on the right places. I saw your post here :

                          https://www.pegym.com/forums/erectil...tosterone.html

This means my T-levels are really low and I would need to work on it more. Would go through the forum and try to find methods to increase the T-levels.

                            Hey

I also have ED but here I see one obvious thing you could do to improve your situation.

Drop porn and masturbation. Dont even look at pics of girls online. Nothing. Thats what I did about a year ago (waant into porn but found myself craving pics of hot girls online, which i also found damaging)

When you get horny, either have sex or fantasize about your gf. Make yourself sexually fristrated haha.

I mean cmon man there are all kinds of red flags in your situation. Stop porn and masturbation, start exercising (i would combine weights and aerobic), optimize your diet (avoid trendy fad diets and make sure you are not in a deficit, avoid micronutrient deficiencies)... if you have those minor issues now i am sure you will be 100% optimized if you do all these. If I were to be sedentary, watch porn etc i would have 0 function, none at all.

As far as testosterone goes, its representative of your general condition. As you optimize your diet, exercise, sleep, stress...your testosterone will be at its optimal range, barring any hypogonadism.

                              Hi 8isBetterThan7,

Thanks for the encouragement mate! I am trying to bring lifestyle changes. My sleep is okay and my stress levels are sometimes high but I try to control them. Banning from porn/images is one thing that I will definitely do.

                              Going to try this :

Monday : Yoga (morning) and 100 pushups( morning); Breathing meditation (evening)
Tuesday: HIIT ( morning) ;Breathing meditation (evening)
Wednesday : Yoga (morning) and 100 squats( morning); Breathing meditation (evening)
Thursday: Running ( morning);Breathing meditation (evening)
                              Friday: Yoga (morning)
                              Saturday: Yoga (morning)
                              Sunday: Long run (Evening)

Still deciding on which yoga poses should i do and whether i should go for Yin Yoga or normal Yoga.

I will also be doing kegels as I believe my pelvic floor is too relaxed after I was diagnosed with CPPS and had to a lot of things to remove tension from the pelvic floor.

Thanking every one for the replies. Will keep you all posted here.

                              Cheers
                              Aditya
