  • Broccoli Boner Brew

This is the best natural remedy I've tried so far. I originally posted it in the Erection Tea thread, but I don't think it is getting the attention it deserves.

I was reading about Prof. Saracoglu's boiled broccoli broth treatment for BPH and prostatitis and decided to try it.

After some experimenting I found it is best to cut off and discard the stems. Put the florets in a pot on the stove with enough water to cover most of the florets. Cover the pot with a lid. Boil slowly for about 15 minutes or until the broccoli is soft to mushy.

Drink one cup of the water about two hours before the desired effect, preferably on an empty stomach. It tastes like weak herbal tea. Even if you don't like broccoli the broth is easy to drink.

It gives me a much firmer erection that also stays up longer. Larger quantities improve the results. I call it Vegetable Viagra.

well, I guess some people don't like broccoli.
And if you prepare the broccoli like this, who knows what substances are diffused into the water and are no longer in the vegetables itself (vitamines, minerals... no idea).
Personally I think for eating it's better to cook the broccoli in steam, takes maybe more time, but I'd say all the stuff stays there...

I'd suggest a correalation between your perceived stronger erection and the ingestion of brocolli before sexual activity. As said above, steaming does not alter the mineral/vitamin content of the brocolli, it just transfers them to the water they are steamed in. Also, by discarding the stems you are discarding a good portion of nutrients as the stems are also dense in minerals/nutrients. This claim is highly dubious. I think that everyone on this board should eat more brocolli though, so its good you brought this up.

According to Prof. Saracoglu's web site, fresh broccoli (unboiled) contains some enzymes that must be deactivated. If this is not done, the enzymes which broccoli contains start a different metabolic reaction. The simple way to deactivate these enzymes is to boil the broccoli in water for 5 minutes. After boiling for 5 minutes, the enzymes will become inactive. If these enzymes aren't deactivated, the broccoli cannot successfully treat those suffering from prostatitis.

              He goes on to say:
"Use both the woody stalk and the flowering portion of the plant for the preparation."

I tried boiling only the stalks and didn't get any results. I tried boiling the whole plant and got some results. I tried boiling only the florets and got better results. I tried lightly boiling them for 5 minutes and got minor results. I tried boiling them for 15 minutes and got good results. Next I will try boiling florets for a long time until there is no color left in them. At that point only the water will be useful. So far, the darker the water, the better it works.

I have also noticed results from eating the broccoli, but only if it is cooked enough to be soft. If there is any crunch left it doesn't work. The more I cook it the better it works. If you want to eat the broccoli you could steam it instead of boiling it. I also found the longer I steamed broccoli the better it worked when I ate it. The water won't be as strong if you steam it instead of boiling, but I have had some results from the water used to steam the broccoli. That implies to me that something was removed from the broccoli even from steaming. If you eat the broccoli, don't throw out the water, drink it. For a real Veggie Viagra punch, the water works better than eating. It's also milder tasting for those who don't like broccoli.

I suggest the sceptics should read Prof. Saracoglu's web site and then try it for themselves.

Very interesting and thanks for posting this information John Dough.

Broccoli and other cruciferous vegatables (brussel spouts, cabbage, collard greens and kohlarabi) have a compound that helps to elimate or reduce estrogens. It is often recommended to eat these vegatables when trying to increase testosterone levels.

The best ejaculation I ever had was after a day or two of eating nothing but raw brussel sprouts, raw walnuts, dessicated liver tablets and water. The volume of pre-cum and semen was incredibe. I've never tried replicating that diet and see if the results were comparable though. I've never ejaculated anything near that volume and force in my life and the only thing I could figure that contributed to it was my diet.

On the menu tonight...broccoli. I actually love the stuff.

The compound in broccoli that reduces estrogen is DIM (Diindolylmethane). I tried two brands of capsules but it did nothing for me.

I found that if I eat broccoli for dinner that is steamed to the point of falling apart when touched, and eat enough to make a meal of it, I get spontaneous erections all night.

I'm eating a whole pot of boiled broccoli as I type. I'm gonna drink all the water it was boiled in as soon as it cools down enough.

btw, John Dough, do you know if broccoli interferes with 5-alpha reductase and dihydrotestosterone in any way?

                      I don't know about that.

For the record I should state that I am over 50 years old. I don't know if the broccoli would have done anything for me when I was 20. I didn't need any help back then. Age differences can often explain why two people get different results from the same application.

That's cool, I'm turning 41 in a couple of weeks...ah the memories of spontaneous erections that we could drive through a piece of pine back when we were 20.

It seems to lose most of its punch even after only one day in the fridge. You should drink it while it's still warm.

Bottom line, if you feel better while eating greens, and you get better P.I's, then they have to be worth considering. I mix spinach and broccoli, boil it up briefly, then refrigerate it, and eat a big helping each day for three or four days in a row, before I cook my next pot of it. I eat raw broccoli, stalks and florets regularly as a snack. I also drink loads of green tea.

I get much better P.I's when I practice this regimen on a regular basis.

I tried this broccoli brew, just the way you recommended, and I had zero results. I haven't seen any other posts up here claiming results. Your enthusiasm is admirable, but it's quite a let down to come accross yet another conconction that fails to help ED.
