  • Benefits of Meditation ?

Forgive me if this topic has allready been discussed but i have not found any threads relating to meditation. Like many guys here i also sufer from ED and have been for a few months now. I am well aware that i sufer from anxiety problems and occassionly nerves so it came as no suprise when my GP confirmed that my ED was purely physcological. His recommendation was to learn how to relax which as many of you will appreciate is not easy as it sounds. As far as relaxation techniques go there is one method that crops up every time ... MEDITATION !
Needless to say, i am keen to learn more about meditation but not sure where to start as there is many guides out there to choose from ranging from both books and videos. I would welcome any information and recommendations from anyone who is fimiliar and experienced in meditation. I might be spotting the obvious here when i say that i think meditation could be hugely benefitial when combined with Penile exercising. Especially when ballooning or edging because these exercises are essentially about meditating on the feeling and achieving erections without the aid of visual material (Porn/x rated magazines).
    Any input is gratefully accepted

I was a college athlete & I took classes on sports psychology.

In any athletic event, you need to be able to reach peak performance when you're 'not feeling good'.

Anyway, I think there is a something to the whole mind over matter thing. I think it's part of what makes a gold medalist, or any great athlete. Truly, it becomes mental when you consider consistency, pushing hard enough each day, dealing with the occasional failures & losses, etc., etc.

PE is very mental.. how hard to push, when to stop, what your routine is.

Now, back to self-control & erections-- I think if you combine that with your PE & supplements, I think there is something to it.

This might sound bizarre, but you could start with something like sports psychology... visualizing success, etc... theres probably a lot out there on it. Unfortunately, that's all I am familiar with.

We mostly learned relaxation techniques & visualizing success type stuff. Like how to really relax your muscles & fall asleep without drugs .... or how to get hyped up for peak performance. Once again, its the only meditation type stuff I have had experience with, but it works. Eventually I found myself doing it without over-thinking it, out of habit...

      Thanks Blink
I will definately consider this ! thats a good observation, there seems to be a lot of stuff out there on everything. I guess what my goal is via meditation is simply allow myself into a zone where i focus soley on the sensations whilst performing stamina. Big Al is my mentor so i am not lacking motivation from a physchology prespective.

Sports psychology/ meditation does work though--if it didn't, they would stop teaching it as part of the normal curriculum & athletes wouldn't bother with it.

I'm just saying that taught me it can work & that it's real. Getting your mental game together is just as important as your physical game. From what I saw, the guys that did the absolute best in college athletics (all american/best in the country), they had their crap together mentally. Anytime they needed to they could hit peak performance, and it didn't matter if they were sick & puking the night before. They would go out & still win the next day.

I can't say which ones were meditating, but a lot do... (or use similar techniques) even subconsciously.

It's a psychology thing yes... but seriously, some guys use mediation type stuff. I said sports psychology as a general reference, but I am talking about meditation, which you asked about.

They did a study about people visualizing (meditation) shooting a basketball vs people actually practicing. It was proven that the people who visualized improved just as much as the people actually doing it. Bizzare huh? That's meditation....

I do transcendental meditation sometimes. I want to get to the point where I do it every day, as I believe it has far reaching health benefits.

These days our brains are going 24/7 it seems, TM allows the brain to shut down & just be.
