  • Do Vacuum Pumps Heal ED?

I was thinking about getting a pump like, Bathmate Hydropump.

    1) Will a pump like this help heal erectile dysfunction?

    2) Will it help make erections stiffer?

    3) Will it help people get erections in the mornings and evenings?

If you use a Hydropump or regular penis pump as an adjunct to the other p.e. manual exercises, the answer to your three questions is "yes, absolutely!."

There is a member of Thunder's Place who goes by the name of "avocet8" who has a nice thread over there advocating the use of a vacuum pump to treat ED.

He suggests multiple short sets of pumping at relatively low pressure (3-5" Hg vacuum). The idea is to cycle blood in and out of the penis, to try to replace or supplement the beneficial effects of nocturnal erections, that some guys with ED may not be having.

Hi, going411by7, thanks for the reply. I'm currently taking supplements. I havent started using manual exercises yet because i dont know if they treat ED or make it worse. Maybe you might tell me if they treat ED.

But, yeah, i'm thnking about buying the hydropump, unless you know of a better pump, to help me heal from ED. I have faith that I will be completely healed from ED. And i feel that a pump will help me get there. Please let me know if the hydropump s the best pump out there or if you know of a better pump. Thanks.

Vacuum pumps for ED were described as being "very safe" and no absolute contra-indications were quoted. As a result of its outstanding record of being safe for use, the United States FDA, in 1997, removed erection devices from its classification as a "prescription" and allowed over-the-counter sales. Studies have shown the success rate of vacuum pumps in producing a firm erection, exceeds 90% and is non-invasive. It remains on the outside of the body. This means there are no negative chemical side effects.

ryanmeyer, thank you so much for replying. One question though... do you think that vacuum pumps can heal ED coupled with supplements, positive thinking, PE exercises, etc.?

I was diagnosed with diabetes 18 years ago and have suffered with progressively worsening ED for 16 years as a result of neuropothy. Before starting PE 14 months ago, I needed to take 100 mg of Viagra, pump for 20 minutes, and place a constriction band around my unit to maintain the pumped erection. Pumping is indeed a medically approved procedure to assist ED patients to achieve erections.

I started jelquing and following Avocet8"s Pumping Routine for ED from the beginning of my PE "career" and reduced my Viagra dosage to 50 mg. Briefly, Avocet8's routine involves pumping at 5 hg for 15 minutes and come out of cylinder and perform 3 Ulis (slow jelq up your shaft until just below the glans where you squeeze for 30 seconds and force the blood into your glans and release and repeat four more times.) Do this routine three times.

However, first, you need to know the source of your ED. Is it psychological or physiological? If it is psychological, pumping can help by giving you a temporary increase in size, which can improve your self confidence. If it is psychological, you need to check the ED forum where you will find many good threads on overcoming psychological issues. If it is physiological (I have diabetes and low T), you need to see a urologist and have your blood tested for low T, thyroid problems, high glucose, etc. In my case, I also have low T so I started HRT two months ago. This morning, I had a 9 EQ erection for the first time withouy Viagra and without constriction; however, I pumped for 45 minutes at 3.5 hg.

                Hi Sharak,

You have some great advice here from men who have experienced a greater E.D. problem than I have had. I think that you CAN heal your E.D. with a pump and manual manipulation, especially as described by avocet. Avocet has probably more experience at this than any one else I have come in contact with over my seven years of practicing p.e. Keep your pumping sessions short and at low intensity with regular manual manipulation. Good luck.

I prefer the VacuTech to a hydropump. It is less cumbersome and more user friendly, in my opinion.

Hi, going411by7.. Thanks for getting back to me. Just to let you know, the source of my ed is a medication that I was forced to take in 1996. Since then, erections have been hard to achieve and maintain. I started doing manual pe exercises this week. The first and 2nd exercise sessions went very well. But, the 3rd session, which was dnoe last nite, caused injusry to the right underside of my penis. And now I'm freaking out a bit. BTW, I'm doing JP's beginner routine.

Anyway, I want to get healed. I wanted to add a pump to supplement the other exercises. Please let me know what you think given this new info. Thank you and I look foraard to your next reply.
