Thread: Can overdoing Kegels cause ED?

I know it might sound a bit weird but I started having ED after I started doing kegels. I was amazed what people said about kegels and so I started doing them quite intensively. Two weeks later my morning erections got weaker and later they were completely gone.I have to admit I went on doing them even after my morning erections were completely gone because I thought it would come back stronger later which wasnt the case sadly. Nowadays I have some morning erections once or twice a week( they are not as strong as they used to be but better than nothing )
Has anyone experienced the same issue with kegels ? or knows anything about connection between overdoing kegels and ED? and/or any solution to reverse this process? I would really appreciate it greatly if you could help me ...

It is NOT ED. You HAVE to take progressive approach with most things related to PE and this is especially true of any kind of Kegel routine (Kegel/Reverse Kegel, Kegel only, Reverse Kegel only etc). What you have done is you have exhausted your pelvic floor area and it has significantly effected your EQ. This is very common in people who hear something good about something and jump at it as vigorously as they can. You have to build it up for your own safety.
I am assuming you were on a Kegel only routine. Pelvic floor muscles can get tired very easily. If done with common sense, this routine helps with EQ and DOs and MMOs further down the line but it must be understood it can have negative impact on your prostrate if you don't build up the strength.
I would advise you take a week or two off completely from PE and start with Minuteman's pelvic floor balancing routine. It is 7-8 weeks program and takes a progressive approach.
Oh and don't think about it all the time, just take some time off and when it feels right go about it in a sensible manner.

Hi cris_jos, thank you very much for the post. My original post might be missing some important information about my case. Sorry about that. But believe me any problem related with penis and erection gives the person a tremendous amount of stress, confusion and also loss of self confidence. I found about this forum only three days ago and trying to familiarize myself with the terms and issues. My problem is to maintain an erection. Although getting an erection is more difficult than before, it is not completely impossible so maintaining an erection is my main issue. Do you still think it is not ED? I quit doing the exercise June 2012 and it has been 10 months. And yes you are right I was on a Kegel only routine. The only positive development that has happened since then is I have started to have a number 7 morning erection once a week or so. Considering the fact that there were no morning erections for the first 7 months after my giving up Kegels it is something I dearly appreciate when it happens. Dont you think 10 months is enough for this pelvic floor area to pull itself together without needing any other exercise? Nevertheless I will follow your advice and but I just need sometimes to pull myself together. In the mean time I want to stay away from porn and masturbating too. In some other forums people say porn also might cause ED. However I have to start do something about it. And I appreciate all the information, comments and advice. Yes kegels can cause this issue . The pelvic floor goes into spasm and does not work as effectively . Sometimes this is accompanied by toilet issues .
So to treatment options .
A physio who deals with the pelvic floor .
If you don't have that option there is a range of things you can do . Deep flat footed squat, yoga stretches ,reverse kegels and various massage types.Last edited by Pegasus; 01-11-2015 at 10:40 PM.

My opinion on kegels has always been that if there is no issue with control then light Kegel routines or no kegels are the very best way to go.
