  • 5 Ways to Increase DHT Naturally

Upon request and since there is an unclear amount of data on the above topic, I have decided to write an dispersing the more sensible ways to "increase DHT naturally".

You may ask why is this a good thing?

    Simply put,

DHT is the King of all Male Hormones..
-May Promote Sexual Health / Erectile Function
-May support CNS (Central Nervous System) function; including proper adrenaline production.
    -Helps to balance Parasympathetic/Sympathetic Function
    -Blunts Pain Response
    -Increases Focus/Aggression
    -Increases Facial Hair
-May counteract / reverse Gyno or help to do this.

Yes, DHT is the king of male hormones. But beside good deeds, kings often perform nasty tricks. Among others... DHT is the main culprit in man's hair loss, nasty BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and worst of all, deadly prostate cancer. So here you have it. Like with many other great things in life (e.g. alcohol), you have to find a right balance and get in control of events. Systemic (whole body) elevation of DHT may badly misfire in terms of overall man's health. You certainly do not want DHT in your scalp. It is possible to eliminate DHT locally from the scalp to preserve good hair growth but it is VERY DIFFICULT! Similarly it is somewhat possible to minimize locally DHT impact on prostate but it is even more difficult to achieve this without systemic decrease of DHT levels in the rest of the body. I am now 75+ YO and struggling with this problem for over the last 40 years. I have hair and hard erections which are an envy of young men but it is very expensive and and hard struggle... SO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU PLAY WITH FIRE!

DHT doesn't cause prostate enlargement, it actually may shrink the prostate. Estrogen is responsible for the majority of growth, DHT simply initiates normal development during puberty.
Only thing DHT might do is ramp up the nervous system, and this might cause urinary hesitancy etc.
Far as hair loss, your androgen receptors in your scalp are greatly regulated by Zinc and other nutrients.
There are plenty of guys who have high DHT and don't lose their hair. Genetics play a role too though.

While of interest an" underground" blog is not an impressive source. Got anything more mainstream?

DHT is garbage, it's what testosterone breaks down into after your body uses it. DHT is the by-product. It clogs your hair follicles and makes you go bald. It is directly related to DHT. You know those castrated eunuchs back in the day? They never went bald, because they didn't produce testosterone, and therefore no DHT either.

My hair was starting to thin, so I started taking DHT blockers and my hair is filling in again. My sex drive and muscles are still here too.

The entire article is cited properly.
Look into DHT's effects on the alpha-1-adrenergic receptors. All over pubmed.
              DHT has plenty of benefits...

Most people who take DHT blockers become either estrogen dominant or they lose their energy production/vigor - I don't recommend them. What would you rather have ? Your manlihood or your hairline?

Honestly I'd rather have my hair. Seeing that bald spot appear when I was 25 was the first sign of aging for me and made me really depressed. I would consider wearing a wig or hair transplants if it got bad enough. I've met guys 22 or 23 with receding hairlines and assumed they were 30+ years old based on their thin receding hair. I just want to stay young looking.

If I get ED from the DHT blockers I will just take cialis. But I haven't so I'm lucky I guess. I've heard of guys getting ED and mental problems from taking finasteride. Just like how some people benefit from anti-depressants, while others commit suicide on them. Some guys really benefit from DHT blockers and get their hair back.

DHT blockers will nearly ruin your adrenaline and GABA production.....
But I hear ya, that is true.

Guys I have been bald for many years it really isn't so bad.
I am more intrested in estrogen and the prostate.

I'm going bald, needless to say have started depressing me, especially now that it's beginning to show. Would prefer to cure my ED first, if I'm honest.

But those DHT blockers sound interesting, could have done hearing about them when I started losing my hair at 18! Would the DHT blockers grow back your hair or simply stop losing anymore?

DHT doesn't make you go bald, male pattern baldness is genetic, its the follicles in the scalp that are sensitive to DHT so if you don't have MPB, then no matter how much DHT you have you won't go bald.
A real man never hurts a woman. The woman came out of a man’s rib, not from his feet to be walked on, and not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved. - Mrs. workin_4_it

If I recall, there was some evidence pointing to another hormone that causes the follicle to trap DHT. It's sort of like being the second one of the scene of a homicide and the police catching you with the murder weapon in your hand.

Other than that, you are correct about genetics.
