  • Is my ED psychological? Need opinions please.

    Hi everyone,

I've been having some ED issues since last Winter. I still believe it was induced by a protein shake, but I may be wrong. Anyho...

Here's the deal: I can get erect at 100%, but can't keep it for more than 5-10 seconds without stimulation. I need to stroke it constantly to remain hard at 100%. But, here's the weird part: when I'm close to cumming, I can stay hard at 100% without any stimulation...

Could this be a venous leak or is it psychological? Ps: im seeing a urologist now, he just prescribed me viagra which is pretty embarrassing (-_-)' I have a few other follow up appointments with him so in the meantime I could use you guy's help.

Sounds like your dopamine/adrenaline production is fucked up. If when you are close to orgasm/ejaculate that the erection firms (a result of sympathetic activity going up) then at this moment your dopamine and adrenaline is rising, if from before this doesn't happen or initially you don't feel this hardness - I would go off to say your nervous system is the main issue.
Tell me what your results are like on Viagra. You might also have the opposite because you seem to be worrying a whole lot about that protein shake...so it's also possible you have Too MUCH sympathetic activity.

Have you ever tried Yohimbine? If so what was the results? That should be an indicator of what your nerves look like, depending on your response to Yohimbine.

Thanks for the answer! To be honest that sounds kinda scary, I hope its not my nervous system!

And no I've never tried it... I am worrying a lot about the shake since it seems that my dick never came back to normal ever since I took it.. now I regret this decision every minute. But I am hopeful that I'll be able to fix my problem soon (hopefully).

What about you? Did you try Yohimbine?

Hey Pegasus... no, I only used a protein shake called "Iso Crazy". But after 4 weeks of using it, the ED started. And it hasn't stopped since, even though I stopped the shake. I don't know why I can't maintain my erection, its like a balloon that's running out of air and I have to pump back air in it every 10 seconds or so.

This is so frustrating... all I can do is wait for my next appointment, but this is affecting my every day life. At first the urologist said it was psychological but I doubt it at this point.

Sorry, he said it was probably psychological for now, but gave me a follow up appointment...

The shake might have vaso constrictors in it such as caffinine that affect eq . This could then get in your head causing the long term issue.

What do you feel when you do a deep flat footed squat ( bum resting on heels feet flat)?

I doubt something in a protein shake from 4 WEEKS ago will cause you any significant chemical change. It sounds like you are worrying about it too much.
I've used Yohimbine as a part of a fat burning stack before - it enhances libido/erections if stacked properly but if you use too much Caffeine with it you will get the opposite effect etc

I believe in Chemical P.E to an extent, but not before assuming the proper mindset!

A protein shake does not cause ED, that is absurd. I figure you are young, so spontaneous ed is most likely psychological. Perhaps you couldn't maintain erection couple of times (too little sleep, over training etc) and you became concerned, which began a vicious cycle.

In theory venous leak is a possibility, it means difficulty in getting/maintaining erection. Only way to rule it out is to take doppler ultrasound. Pegasus guess may also be the cause.

Bottom line is that based on your description, it can only be speculated whether it is psychological or not. Viagra is most likely going to work so that you donīt need constant stimulation but it wonīt really fix the underlying issue.

Hmm I'll let you know once I get home!

I've never heard of vaso constrictors before, that name sounds bad too

Ok thanks for the info. But I took the shake about 5 months ago for a period of 4 weeks, just to clarify.

Trust me, I know viagra wont fix the issue... and yes, I am young...I was just wondering if it was possible for someone with a venous leak to attain 100% eq and stay that way without stimulation before climaxing?

If you experience difficulties in maintaining erection then you may have venous leak. Thatīs the straight answer. In your case it sounds unlikely. Are you able to maintain erection for as long as needed during intercourse?

I never tried having intercourse ever since my ED started... but my guess is that i wouldnt be able to. Honestly I also doubt it is a venous leak as it was pretty spontaneous and happened out of nowhere... but I guess it still could be...
