The Turkish military has announced that it's taken control of the country in what is widely seen as a coup against the government of President Erdogan. Civilians are being informed that martial law has been imposed and that they should return to their homes. It is unclear at this point which military units are participating in the coup attempt and which are responding to it. Military units have taken control of Ataturk international airport in Istanbul, and communication channels including Twitter, Facebook and the state television channel have been blocked. |

I bet either the US or another western country with a superior intelligence community is behind this. Turkey was rapidly heading to Pakistan territory with their covert support of isis. The military there is tied tightly to the west and the country's guardian of secularity. This is likely a positive for the west. More reporters are imprisoned in Turkey then any other nation at the moment.
