Well this was not the most skilled Indian cricket team to tour Aussie but it was the toughest. To come back from such a defeat to go forward in the face of injuries and criticism . To play positive and attacking cricket when a draw could have been seen as a win . To overcome history in the big ask for winning runs .
It was a great game and a great series . A well deserved victory for India .

Recently watched the movie "Lagaan" starring Aamir Khan set in India around the time of British Raj and revolved around an amazing cricket match between the ruling British and a new trained Indian team. It is not based on an actual event, more a composite of numerous different events and brings together a number threads to tell a story of how cricket became a way for Indians to gain some legitimacy with the British ruling class. The British thought India could never master the game to the degree that they could challenge the rich Oxford or Eton types. Really excellent movie if you like your cricket with a bit of history.

You guys still having a beef with China? Sounds like you are. Any other countries backing you on this? Don't say the US because Trump is gone so it looks like you're going at it alone.

The reserve bank stood in the market today buying bonds . They have a strong record when they intervene and get a lot of bang for the buck . A record of backing winners had a good effect on the market when the rba goes in the market listens .

It's a funny thing but this has been in a sense a personal thread . I have made some statements on politics , sport ,international relations etc that would have caused conflict if they had been on US subjects . Aussies tend to roll with it . He likes this pollie or that; meh whoever you vote for a pollie wins . He likes the Indian cricket team; meh he must like curries .
Anytime an aussie comments on the thread they seem glad they have a forum .

We're a fairly easy going bunch, aren't we?
Have to say though, with an "Aussie" title, one can only assume it's a communally intended thread
Is there such thing? That...
