I heard one of Trump's Republican supporters explain that Trump is not a "wordsmith" and does not choose his words properly. Accordingly, we need to try and figure out his meaning and not take his words at face value.

As an example, yesterday, he stated that we should go after the illegals (bad dudes) militarily, which would be a violation of the Constitution. Instead he should have said go after them in a military fashion. Trump relies on his staff (mostly Spicer) to clean up his misstatements after the fact.

The way I see it the trouble is if he carries on with these kind of off the cuff statements in the end he's going to be ridiculed by everyone. I just don't see why he has to react so vehemently to every criticism thrown his way. Actions speak louder than words.

His policies will become a side issue.
