  • My Prostate Has Let Me Down

Posted in the Gym as I didn't know where else to post this.

I'm a young middle age guy, 57 with all positive signs of life both real and physical. Had a recent yearly exam that showed elevated levels of PSA. PSA is a prostate specific antigin measure that is a precursor to cancer. So, I am on TRT which tends to elevate PSA raeadigs. As a result, my last three test have shown elevated PSA. With three elevated tests, you get a free pass to a specialist and a biopsy of your prostrate to make sure nothing is going on. It seems that TRT accelerates Prostate cancer if your have it so important to have yourself checked out

Yesterday, I had my prostate biopsy. They took 12 samples and I will find out the results next monday. Today, I am experiencing blood in my urine, blood clots passing through my urine. Not sure what to think other than to share with others here on the forums. Doc told me that the first time I cum after the procedure, it will look like a crime scene. He said to expect issues of blood in urine and ejaculate for up to 2 months. First time I have ever asked my wife to come look at my urine in the toilet so she was in the loop.

Not sure why I am sharing this other that a lot of you have shared much more intimate problems than my simple medical procedure. I guess it is all to let you know to keep it real, life is short, don't hold grudges, make friends and hold them dear, and never take anything for granted.

Love everyone here on the forums. Hope tomorrow yields better results.

This is very saddening news ZZ. Wishing you all the best for a good outcome with the biopsy results on Monday. As a man in a similar stage of life and situation to you I appreciate your reminder to live life to its fullest.

Thanks Max- most appreciative of the kind words. Life throws you some curves and we need to sometimes bend to accept them. Keeping it positive - doc found nothing in the ultra sound that was of concern, so hoping this is a false negative sort of thing. Anxiously waiting for next weeks results.

Mine is addicted to Saw Palmetto. PSA's are acceptable.

Wishing things go well my friend.

My best friend's dad died of prostate cancer and he likely would have survived had he gotten checked out two months earlier. It was so sad. Then two years after his death, my buddy got an early check-up and the doc noticed something unusual, so sent him for a biopsy and they found benign growths that they took out. Mir could have been worse! He's better now living a totally normal life in every way. You'll be the same for years to come!

I just wish the Cancer Society campaigned equally or shared the funds equally. While breast cancer is no joke either, the survival rate is plus 90% and accounts for over 80% of funding - prostate gets less than 10%

Do you best not to worry until you have an answer.

I don't undetstand prostate cancer but my sister in law father has it. Ive know him 6 years. Hes great, works full time, holidays loads to weird and wonderful places. Ive never spoken to him about it so i dont know if he had treatment.

                  Sending all my love xxx

Best of luck my friend. Better to have caught it early. I to am on TRT but luckily PSA numbers fine. Waiting on results of my full body PET scan to discover WTF that thing in my lung is, probably nothing. Never smoked a day in my life, ironic. I may start now, LOL.
A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. My daughter needs your prayers. Thank You.

ZZman. I am a member of pegym because I was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago. Had radical prostatectomy. I was stage 1. I have high blood pressure so saw my doctor annually and got blood work done. PSA cholesterol and all that stuff. Too throw this out , guys, you should get checked at 40, 45, and so on. Too catch it early is the best, with all of it.
After surgery suffered from penial retaction, so started started looking into ED therapy, got a pump and started working out. Was 6x5 when healthy. Now pushing 7x5.5 , there is life after surgery. I found the pegym and amazing about enhanced now. I was diagnosed at 56. Pray you are free of cancer, but many great things are out there now. Will watch for your thread and tell more. Time for bed for me.

This forum never ceases to amaze me. Out right total support - Makes me want to cry that you all are out there in my corner. Love the stories of success and hope to add to them next week. Right now, peeing blood (which is normal). tried to stimulate myself to the point of pre-cum...It came out totally red and bloody. Have decided to give things a rest for at least a week. Not sure if evacuating the blood from the prostate is a good thing or not. Lots of blood clots in my urine. The doctor didn't leave much advice other than the first time you cum it will look like a crime scene. I understand what he meant now.

Another example of the great family we have here on the forums. Thank you my friend for the story and the peek at hope for my prognosis. Next few days for me are going to be worrisome. Can't deny that. But the support here has really made a difference. Thank you all. Test results Monday.

Hi ZZ Has your doctor given you a DRE yet ( digital rectal examination ) its really one of the best ways of telling if it is cancer as sometimes PSA reading are not the best way to go, that's not from me' that's from the UK's NHS, something you may like to read.

                            https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/prosta...have-psa-test/

Just keep your head up get stuck into your work, as worry will cause you stress and that is the last thing you want, get you old love machine working as that should keep you mind of it and keep off the booze as the answer is not in that.

                            Keep strong.
