  • What is the healthiest sexual lifestyle ?

So as the question says, regarding masturbation and sex, how could one keep the sexual apparatus to alpha power until old age ?

Should one masturbate less frequently ? one time per week/month/year ? no fap and only sex ?
Should one have lots of sex to keep the flame alive and burning down there ?
Can the sexual apparatus go "sleepy" during times of no sexual activity and just produce less and less sex hormones because one doesn't give it FUEL anymore ?

Everyone is mostly preaching no-fap or ejaculating rare on the internet; yet when having an active partner ejaculations can come daily in many numbers.

What's the science behind this ? I'm expecting some factual/study based info so we could understand what sex-lifestyle is the best for us to pick, to be healthy down there till we go old. So I`m expecting it to be a co-operative thread to help us, all.

so far I've found only a few Eastern/Asian therapists who recommend not ejaculating often as it may be harmfull, but is it so or not ? example :

    NoFap - Ancient Knowledge

    Updated: Aug 29, 2018

This article is stolen from the internet, but we shall be thankful that this knowledge is still alive today

It is commonly known among athletes and martial artists that avoiding sex before a competition or event is a vital contributor towards success, since the expelling of the sexual energy results in a depletion of strength, fortitude, and concentration. This naturally raises the question, "If I never expel the semen, will my strength and stamina grow even more?"

In non-western medical traditions such as Ayurveda, Chinese or Tibetan medicine, it is widely known that retention of semen is a source of health, strength, vitality, and general well-being. The drain of energy that is felt after orgasm has a solid scientific basis. Moreover, the easily observable effect of the woman absorbing semen, becoming lively, energetic and happy, is evidence of the energy transmitted.

The semen is a viscid albuminous fluid, alkaline in reaction, which is very rich in calcium and phosphorus, also in lecithin, cholesterol, albumen, nucleoproteins, iron, vitamin E, etc. In the ejaculation of the normal man, about 226 million spermatozoa are given off; these are rich in phosphorized fats (lecithin), cholesterol (the parent-source of sex hormones), nucleoproteins and iron. An ounce of semen is considered to be equal in value to sixty ounces of blood, of which it constitutes an extract of some of its most valuable of constituents, as far as its vitalising power is concerned. Dr. Frederick McCann remarks on this point, "From what has been stated it must be admitted that the spermatozoa fluid does possess potentialities justifying the belief of ancient writers concerning its vital properties."

The semen contains substances of high physiological value, especially in relation to the nutrition of the brain and nervous system. If resorption of semen through the wall of the female genital tract has a vitalizing effect on the female organism, the same should be the case in the body of the male in which it is formed and conserved. And conversely, loss of semen must deprive the organism of vitality and valuable substances necessary for the nutrition of nervous tissue, such as lecithin, which has been used therapeutically with great success for the cure of neurasthenia resulting from sexual excess. - Raymond W. Bernard MD
Orgasm depletes enormous energy from the endocrine and nervous systems, leaving the body weak and lethargic until the energies are gradually created again.

In Tibetan medicine, it is said that seven drops of the vital essence of food are required to produce one drop of the vital essence of blood. And it takes one cup of the vital essence of blood to produce one drop of the vital essence of semen. This underscores its value and the time it takes to produce it in the body. Moreover, the Tibetan scriptures state that by retention and transformation of the vital essence of semen, the tigle or vital essence invigorates the body and the mind. This is the basic foundation of the thousand year history of Tibetan Buddhism, and the fundamental source of the huge number of highly effective people who flowered from the tradition, like the Dalai Lamas, Milarepa, Tsong Khapa, and many more.

In other traditions around the world, some of the most remarkable people in history were devoted to the preservation of their semen: people like Shakespeare, Thoreau, Gandhi, Buddha, Pythagoras, Hippocrates, Galen, Aristotle, Beethoven, and others.

'The horror with which ancient literature regarded the fruitless loss of the vital fluid was not a superstition born of ignorance... Surely it is criminal for a man to allow his most precious possession to run to waste.' - Mohandas K. Gandhi, from a talk with Margaret Sanger, 1935, Dr. Bernard. R.W., Nutritional Sex Control & Rejuvenation. Health Research: Pomeroy

Yet, in all of these cases, the mere retention of the energy is not enough. Energy cannot be stored easily or without effort. Experiments with semen retention quickly reveal how agitated and anxious the person can become if they do not know how to direct that energy in a new way. This is why the ancient spiritual traditions taught techniques of transmutation to the initiates. Without transmutation of the retained energy, the trapped forces find other avenues to flow through: such as mental preoccupation, fanaticism, fantasy, obsessive behaviors, depression, and other serious psychological problems. Thus, if you intend on saving your sexual energy, be sure to adopt new behaviors to direct those energies in a healthy way.

Some suggestions include: Meditation, Pranayama, Sports and physical exercise, Regular and concentrated enjoyment of classical music or art, Deep breathing practices, Tibetan exercises, Runic exercises, Vril meditation techniques.

Yet how much of this is .. true ?

I do not have the science in front of me, but a quick search of the 'Gym might pull up pertinent threads:

There is a negative correlation between ejaculation and prostate cancer for men under 50. Meaning that more ejaculation reduces chances of prostate cancer. But as you approach 50 that levels off and starting at about fifty there is no longer a correlation.

Now, on the other hand, according to traditional Chinese medicine (which many discount) says you can ejaculation twice per day in your twenties, once per day in 30s, twice a week in 40s and once a week in 50s

Interesting. And that guy from clip says in your twenties one time in 4 days, in your 30's one time in 8 days. Yet no scientific data on it.

Yet many pornstars perform daily like 5-6 ejaculations and they seem pretty fine. Can we find more data on this to compare the info we got ?

I find it really interesting, can ejaculation numbers affect sexual apparatus in any way ? or whole health as we age?, be the main question

Decrease of sexual activity is not primarily about age but rather age related changes in hormonal profile and possibly neurotransmitters. Also should be noted that these are very different even among people of same ages. There are many accounts of people taking medication that increase dopamine or androgens and significant changes in sexual desire and behaviour regardless of age.

One study found serum DHT be the best predictor of orgasm frequency, second being marriage status (sexual opportunities).
        https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2549675/
Dopaminergic drugs increasing sexual behaviour is well known
        https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16400746

As far as science comes there is no optimal frequency. Refraining from ejaculation has no benefits backed by science. You'll lose some nutrients by ejaculation, pretty insignificant amounts for most. Still zinc 3-6mg for each load so it can be a factor for very sexually active people. Libido is mediated by antagonistic mechanisms in the body so there is no need to artificially restrict it for future sexual health.

I think use it or lose it applies to penile health otherwise. This forum has many success stories of improved EQ from PE exercises. Stimulating blood flow is good for all tissues. Incogneetoe is a good example of someone who has improved sexual health by increasing blood flow to penis by daily PE and edging. Big Al has recommended to have an erection for at least an hour a week to keep penile tissues in good health. No science links to this but insufficient blood supply (oxygen&nutrients) likely affects tissue health. So improving circulation has benefits at least to some extent. Muscle atrophy also happens when a muscle isn't used enough (pelvic floor).

So yet, nofappers that do nothing for 3-6 months, still get good resuts and reboots from that. How ?

The big thing about ejaculations is that they cost resources of your body that you "give away".
Your body invests energy in creating the sperm you ejaculated. The ejaculation/orgasm also uses up chemicals in your brain and body.
These resources are then missing somewhere else..

Everybody is different. I wont feel good if I ejaculate 5 times a day. More tiring mentally and physically than doing heavy muscles training.

Life generally is about balance. I dabbled a bit with the nofap theory but it's just a good thing taken to the extreme.
There's nothing bad with ejaculating once a week.

As long as you don't take it to the extreme(daily 5 times ejac or no ejac for a month +) I think difference in health and life are miniscule.

In my unpopular opinion, I don't think the NoFap movement is healthy. It just replaces one addiction with another... Which is talking about NoFap like it's some life changing spiritual movement, much in the same way Alcoholics Anonymous does with alcoholism. But in the meantime, practitioners base their success off of unrealistic standards of improvement in the future and how long they can go without performing a basic bodily function and then feel guilty about relieving themselves, creating a negative feed back loop where they abstain from ejaculation, get thirsty, relieve themselves, feel incredibly guilty, and go back to NoFap.

Imo, if you handle the no fap like a sport or challenge it can be fun.
But what I read people are projecting too much into it thinking they get some superpowers.

It's not that the resources used would be missing from somewhere else when they are abundant in the diet. Same way as calories/resources used during physical exercise aren't away from your other bodily functions when nutrition is adequate. I think it's alright for your body to do ”extra” work as long as the building blocks aren't missing.

The way sexual behaviour is regulated by ejaculation is that it increases the release of inhibitory chemicals/hormones/chemicals. So after ejaculation prolactin levels increase significantly and essentially prolactin has inverse relationship with dopamine so when one is high the other is low. Dopamin agonist medication lowers prolactin and increases libido. It's not just about prolactin and dopamine though there are many different chemicals that have effects on libido oxytocin, serotonin etc. But basically ejaculation causes the release of chemicals that suppress androgens and dopamine, the main drivers of libido.

In practice it's really about the balance of these chemicals. If ejaculation makes you lethargic you know the balance shifts too much from the favor of dopamine to it's antagonists. If you have high androgens and dopamine you are much more resistant to losing libido and drive from prolactin/serotonin... That being said I also ejaculate once a week but I think as soon as your libido bounces back you are good to ejaculate again if you want to. Ejaculating to sexual exhaustion was shown to reduce androgen receptor density but following libido there shouldn't be any problems ejaculating even more than once a week IMO.

I did no fap for 3 months and in that period I think I really healed my penis and ED issues, so I got mixed feelings about this. On the other side, how can we be really sure that sexual abstinence does not maintain the sexual apparatus in good youth shape ? I keep searching on net but no studies, data on this, meanwhile many guys swear on no-fap that makes them sex gods ?!

No fap is not what makes them sexual gods. It is likely an ability to maintain their sexual energy, or emotion if you will, and consume it within instead of spitting it out. Once one can move and control their sexual energy, they can prevent a build up in their prostate because they never become 'that aroused' that they're gonna blow.
Think of how a person mourning the loss of another can take that energy and convert it into something such as fundraisers for charitable events or eben organizations that recognize other lost in the same way.
Pranayama is one of a first step in controlling that energy. There are many forms of pranayama such as spinal breathing, and microcosmic orbit.
Myself I found the control through spinal breathing. I used this during urination as training due to the similar feelings of pressure from urination and ejaculation. It proved quite effective and then through sex it was just as. I do it in a daily routine and also before and during sex or head. Can even use it to bring down a raging boner in awkward situations.

                            Food for thought.

Oh, and the healthiest sexual lifestyle is the one which makes your partner and you happy, or happier!

I think the healthiest sexual lifestyle is sex that satisfies both partners. If you're not with someone else, it's sex that satisfies yourself when you feel horny - not just as a habit or to pass the time. There are positive physiological and mental effects from sex that go well beyond procreation.
