Okay here's a new twist on something you all may like. I made this over the weekend for the first time and it was great. Batter dipped corn on the cob. Okay so you make your own batter ( or you can use pancake batter or bisquick); dip the corn into the batter then roll it in crushed corn flakes. If you have a deep fryer put the corn in for about 2-3 minutes ( or until golden brown). If no deeep fryer is available heat oil in a deep skillet to 375 and place corn in skillet for 2 minutes each side. Try it! Anyone want fried mac and cheese?

Captain Johnson and I had the most delicious conversation about food yesterday and what we like to cook. I thought of creating a thread to find out if we have any closet chefs out there and whether or not they would like to share their "famous dishes"...well, I see Cusp has already created one! Sooo....what do you are some of your favourite foods and recipes???
I'll start...
Bacon Stuffed Mushroom Caps
15 -20 large mushrooms
6-8 slices of bacon (you can use bacon bits in a pinch)
1/2 cup of shredded cheese (mozzerella or cheddar)
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoon of fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon of dried
1) Clean mushrooms and remove stems (but mince a few stems and add to stuff mixture) set aside
2) Dice bacon, add to a large skillet and cook until crisp.
3) Remove bacon to drain on paper towel to cool and add garlic to skillet; cook very briefly (do not burn!) Remove garlic and add to bowl.
4) Keep bacon fat in skillet but lower heat, add mushroom caps. Lightly brown one side then turn and brown other side. Remove and place on a baking sheet.
In a bowl, mix together, bacon bits, garlic, cheese, a few minced mushroom stems and parsley. Blend well. Stuff mixture into mushroom caps. Broil until cheese is bubbly.
Enjoy as an appetizer or as an add-on to your meal.
