  • Rogaine kills your gains!!!

If you are doing PE to help enhance your sex life and make your unit bigger then do not take Rogaine topically. Though theoretically speaking it cannot effect your testosterone levels, it has seriously decreased something....my guy is singificantly less thick, and I've seemed to lose a serious amount of libido from 1 week of use.

I will cut down to using it once every other day. If the side effects still remain after another week I will stop completely. I would rather be bald with a rock hard erection that have a full head of hair and can't get it up

Just trying to warn you all out there because there is nothing on the bottle that says sexual side effects, however a quick search online will show you how many people have experienced this as well.

Maybe it hasn't "killed" my gains, but it has certainly made my guy a lot less excited and that can't help my future gains.

I know from experience that Propecia had those affects, i never realised Minoxidil did aswell. Took them both together on a perscribed treatment course for about 8 months before i decided enough was enough. They were not really working that well, they were costing me a fortune and my libido was non-existing never mind low.
I went into depression after accepting defeat to hairloss, it was a hard but i had to learn to adjust to a new image and im so glad i did. Its a bit like when women are going through the menopause, they just want to get through the ordeal, move on and forget about it.

      It doesn't for me.
I used rogaine for 5 out of my 6 month of PE-ing and still using it. My gains exceeded my wildest hopes and my EQ went from kinda hard to Diamond cutter.
Propecia is different.. it's proven to decrease libido all the way up to ED

I say stick with rogaine, it takes about 2 weeks for your body and your scalp to adjust.. but results are amazing!

Are you using the 5% liquid stuff twice a day? I am not taking propecia as I heard some people permanently suffer from ED after taking it...no thank you.

I know it takes a bit for my body to adjust...but I've been reading all these reviews:

ROGAINE EXTRA STRENGTH (FOR MEN): Side effects, ratings, and patient comments

And it seems as if many others are suffering a loss in libido. I'm afraid that taking it another week could cause permanent damage as one person states they only took it for 5 days and now cannot get a 10 EQ even a year after using it.

I'm using costco brand 5% foam 2 times a day, morning and evening.
I just like you used to read all the reviews and first week I actually "felt that my EQ is lower", however, after 2-3 weeks of daily measures.. I realised it was psychological.. my gains were steady.. and my EQ was just as good as before.

As I said.. first couple of days it will affect you.. I had hot flashes.. but they went away

I have been using it for about 6 months solidly & I have experienced some loss of libido - I put this down to stress, but now I am questioning it.

I stopped 2 weeks ago, first week was slowly better, still not 100%. The second week off I am back to normal...hard on's int he morning and through out the day, quality erections are back

Obviously not the same for everyone.

September 20th, 2010 at 3:18 am MINOXIDIL (active ingredient in rogaine) does in fact cause sexual side effects.
                  LET ME EXPLAIN WHY:
Minoxidil is a vascular dilator. During a normal erection, the tunica and base of penis is constricted in a way not to allow blood to flow out. Minoxidil causes blood not to be able to stay in penis because it dilates the base of penis. This results in impotence or temporary erectile dysfunction.
SO YES, MINOXIDIL DOES CAUSE ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION.

I think that Minoxodil and ED link is a myth.. it's in people's head.
Minoxidil is vascular dilator... how it can cause ED? While it's definately getting in your blood (not only on the head) there is no way it could affect it to the point of ED
                  As a comparision:
Alcohol- vascular dilator, in small quantities helps virility
Tea/coffee - vascular dilators, proven to help erections
Virility foods: (chilies/ginger.. etc) all vascular dilators
And of course.. VIAGRA - Vascular Dilator

The "internet urologist" should know how penis works and that smooth muscle is way stronger then any blood veins in your body

There is definately changes in your body when Minoxidil hits it.. but ED.. it's all in your head

S55 is right. Minoxidil improves blood flow to hair follicles and does not act systemically. It is not a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) inhibitor like finasteride Propecia) and dutasteride.

Hair loss can occur for many reasons, significant among them genetics, excess DHT production, reduced follicular blood flow, build up of collagenous tissue in scalp, etc.... Propecia and dutasteride block the 5-alpha reductase enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. DHT is like "super-testosterone" - it is highly androgenic. When DHT levels are lowered with a drug, some libido effects can occur. The degree to which this occurs is partly based upon the dosing protocol that is used, along with individual variability in our responses to the drug. These drugs are used for hair loss and prostate hypertrophy because these conditions are often associated with excess DHT. Minoxidil is a totally, completely, 100% different thing and is not in any way comparable.

Wow really? This is so ill informed. S55...you can't go making those assumptions just because it is a certain way for you. Why not do some more research and see how many other people have complained about losing their libido, even shrinkage of the flaccid penis. This isn't ALL IN THE HEAD, that's the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard. I know my penis very well, and I can tell if something is wrong. I've never once had ED in my life, in fact I have the opposite...I get hard all the time. When I started taking the liquid 5% rogaine I could barely get 80-90% erections, and it wouldn't last very long. 1-2 weeks after stopping use everything is back to normal. It was not in my head, because I had no idea rogaine could do that. I started to notice the problem and realized it started RIGHT when I began Rogaine.

Here is a review site that gives it a 2.1 out of 5...

                      http://www.askapatient.com/viewratin...28FOR%20MEN%29

It's funny how OVER 75% of people reporting side effects are reporting loss in libido/sex drive. This is not a coincident, to say rogaine has nothing to do with a loss of libido in some men is just...flat out ignorant.

                      Edit:
Minoxidil is vascular dilator... how it can cause ED? While it's definately getting in your blood (not only on the head) there is no way it could affect it to the point of ED
It doesn't cause full ED...just a serious loss in sex drive (mind you this is obviously not the case for everyone, but just because it's not the case for you doesn't mean other people don't have a problem...) because it dialates the base of the penis, blood can escape from the shaft making it harder to maintain and hold a solid erection.

Stallion, I'm sorry if I offended you.. I was speaking of ED and my experiences.
I don't have any medical knowledge but I firmly beleive in common sense.
I also don't beleive in forums or anything on the internet. People will blow up anything just to make themselves feel better.

There is one thing that I 100% agree with you: It's different for everyone and it cann't cause long term effects.
As far as libido, of course it will affect your libido.. it's a vascular dilator.. hence the heart palpitations and hot flashes.. you body has to adjust. I had hot flashes too.. and yes when my heart is racing my cock is not getting hard all the time.

That's why I said give it time, if after 1 month you still have side effects - quit! everything will go back to normal

Another thing is don't overdo it.. people are impatient you can see it on every forum:
                        - Here on pegym.. "it's been two weeks, I have no growth.. I overtrained"
                        - On my racing forum.. "I adeed X and Y and my lap times didn't improved.. and then my engine blew up"
                        - With rogaine.. "It's been three days, I see no results, I have horrible side effects and my 'one month bottle' is finished"

As UpcomingStallion said: It doesn't cause ED, if you quit it all goes back to normal, so my advice: Try it, give it some time and see if you like it.
It worked for me, I didn't get OMFG amazing results, in 5 month I did get a lot of small black hairs growing and it definately looks much better

And yeah.. don't beleive the forums.. try it youself and use common sense

I've been using Minoxidil-based drugs for the last 3 years - Rogaine liquid form and then Rogaine Foam for the last 2 years. I started PE during my usage and I have only experienced stronger erections and an increased libido (along with size gains). I don't remember suffering any sexual side-effects from topical use.
