  • Ciao

    Helllo and goodbye,
The Italians have a double meaning with the same word.
What is your favourite way of saying hi or bye.
One of mine is to say
Hey when we meet and Hugs when we leave.

It irritates me that good morning is always a greeting and good night is always said while leaving. What if you're meeting someone and it's night time? Can't you greet them with a good night?

"Time to do the Russian ballet and Pissed-el-off-ski." (My Dad used to say that. Makes no sense but I still like it.)

Hello to a friend would be just "Hey" I suppose, with a bit of a head nod and a raise of the eyebrows.
Hello in a more formal scenario would be... wait for it.... "Hello".
Sometimes say "G'day", not that much.

Adieu, French for 'farewell', signifies a more permanent parting than the common au revoir.
I like to say it when I think it's going to be the last time I see someone.

C'ya means see you, the apostrophe makes it super hip and nifty keen or you could use c'y'all, which double the niftyness and the keenness, bringing it to ultra hip.

I like saying "Evening" in a theatrical tone as a greeting.

                          Funny Goodbyes:
Make like a guillotine, and head off.

When I see my dog I put my hands in the air and yell out his name "Maxi!" and he gets so excited he starts sneezing.
