  • Quitting porn/no fap questions

I tried looking for answers on YBOP and Google but I didn't find anything. So I figured my friends at the gym would help me out. Heres the story...

I have been watching porn since I was 12 or 13 years old. Right about the time I started masturbating. It got to the point where my erections were terrible, I was anti-social/bitter all the time, my sex drive was terrible, etc. I was a real porn addict on the verge of erectile dysfunction.

And then, I quit. This was 4 months ago and haven't watched porn since.

    I didn't quit masturbating though.
I read that this only slows your reboot and makes you more likely to relapse. But I never relapsed so I figured I was OK.

    Now 4 months later...
My erections (although improved) haven't gotten past a 7.5/10.
I feel more attraction to girls but not the amount that I would like.
I still crave porn when I'm horny (not sure if that's normal)
I'm 10X more social and outgoing (but this might just because I've been improving myself...).
    Etc.

The problem is, I still don't feel "rebooted".

So my question is, do I need to "reboot"? Do I need to stop masturbating for a full 90 days or something?? Or should I just give it more time and hope for slow improvements?

I don't have any helpful info about the rebooting, but I will say... great job!

To step up after what I assume must be several years of porn addiction, and decide to push it aside as part of your self improvement. Well, that's pretty impressive willpower.

I'm of the belief that masturbation is normal and healthy, as long as it doesn't get out of control. For what you're doing though, I can't say if it's advised or not. And I'm sure the cravings are completely normal. I can't think of any addiction that doesn't have the side effects of cravings through remembering what was good.

That's just it. Don't remember the good, focus completely on what negative effects it had. Might help fight off the cravings.

Whatever happens, don't give up!! Sounds like you've had some great positive changes, even if you don't feel rebooted. Good for you Danster.

Hey thanks a lot I do feel a lot better, I can't imagine what kind of shape I'd be in if I hadn't quit when I did.

Does anyone else have answers for my question?

Congrats on your great accomplishment thats a great feat, keep it up!

Rebooting takes time, and that time differs from one person to another, but keep in mind that the longer you have been addicted the harder it is to reboot/recover, especially that you were too young when you started, but you will recover, stay positive and encouraged, you are noticing the difference already, and that means progress.
