  • Porn & Condoms

Whats the deal? I think I have only seen a condom in 2 porn films ever! I've watched allot of porn and I never see a condom being worn. I dont get it, these people dont know each other and they obviously have had sex with a TON of people. How is it safe? Do you guys think the people in porn are causing a more rapid spread of std's? I do. Some std's dont show up physically or on a std test right away.

well if your talking official stuff like vivid and those type of companies they have a list of all actors and male performers are tested weekly and females are tested monthly. If you are found to have an std your blacklisted. Plus porn really isn't what you see on the tape. A 20min scene is probably 4 hours worth of shots.

I have seen lot's of both, actually; condom and au naturelle. I've read about how the porn industry does test it's "employees" regularly, but like you said, sometimes the bugs don't show up right away on test results. I remember there was a case not too long ago (maybe 3yrs back or so) where there was this massive panic cause this American male performer went to work on some films in Brazil and ended up catching HIV but it took a while after he got back from Brazil for the HIV to show on lab results. Apparently he had preformed unprotected with several porn actresses after he got back from Brazil and there was a total freak-out in the industry when he finally tested positive. The whole mess was on several mainstream news outlets, mostly online. I think in the end there was only one female who hapenned to contract the virus from him. However, when it comes to HIV, one case is one too many.

Thats horrifying! In my opinion, not only is it a dangerous thing to have sex with a ton of people without a condom BUT my other concern (not to sound like a mother lol) is the example they are setting. I know it sounds crazy to say "Porn is setting a bad example" lol but for real. I think a HUGE portion of porn viewers are young and impressionable. If you see promiscuous people having sex without a condom, your probably thinking...this persons got to be cleaner than the people in this video, I dont need a condom either. Or that porn is just reinforcing our desires to not use protection. I really thought that most people use protection while in the dating world (these days, after the AIDs awareness movement in the 80's-90's) but having asked around I was AMAZED that the majority DOES NOT use protection! You DO NOT KNOW if a person is clean unless you physically see the results paper. There are soooo many risks. Ok Im off the soap box for now.

It's incredibly dangerous and in the porn I've seen, I seldom see a condom being worn myself. I mean sure, au naturale is alot funner because the sensation is what it should be BUT, you also run the risk of contracting an STD or worse, HIV. In an industry like the porn business, where sex is the commodity you sell, if you don't take precautions to protect yourself, your playing with your life.

That gets a rep point BB. And yes they are showing a bad example to young people who watch porn and think it wont happen to them. STD's are on the rise amongst college kids.

I think people go into with the "it won't happen to me" mentality...............until it does.

Actually KP, STDs have been steadily increasing among every age group for the last several years. Whereas 1 in 4 was expected to contract an std now its 4 of 5. Can't be too careful.............Pretty soon a blood test will be required to date.

Sadly, alot of young people feel that they are similiar to super heros and unstoppable, more sadly alot of people especially in my community just don't seem to care about STD's especially the big one, whether it be that they don't care about themselves or that with all of the current medications out there, they will still be able to lead a "normal" life... Now, in my opinion, (touching on porn in general) while I do occassionally enjoy porn from time to time I completely believe it gives unrealistic views of sex, and completely teaches people to take the intimacy out of sex... If you ever "really" watch a porn, nine times outy of ten, I would not want to be the guy getting his knob bobbed on, cause it looks like the other person is just doing it...like it looks like it doesn't feel good, and I feel the same way when I am watching someone tearing someone up... like I would want to jump in and show them how to get in it lol

It's not just the young and impressionable.

I don't know what it is, but every woman I've ever been with has tried to get me to NOT use a condom:

"I want you to fuck me naked."
"I like the feel of skin."
                    "I've never got pregnant before."
                    "Latex irritates my pussy."
                    "I don't like rubber."
"The doctor told me I can't get pregnant." (this girl actually did end up pregnant by some other guy about a year later)

Those are all verbatim quotes. These were usually mature women who should have known better, but they just didn't want the feel of the condom. I remember telling my doctor about this and he was very surprised because usually it's the man who doesn't want to use the condom????? Really?

I'm committed to 100% condom use until I really know who I'm dealing with.

HotRod is right, most women I know HATE condoms. In fact, I've never met a single one that actually preferred sex with a condom. I think women lose as much sensation as we do using condoms.

i watch some porn intervention last year and she was talking about how you get paid more to swallow cum or to do unprotected sex and basicaly the more dirty sluty stuff you do the more money you reel in to the business and more money in your pocket but she talk about how most of the porn stars in the flim industry have gonorrhea and its a common disease for they adult actors to get it and still continue working . im not a actor so i dont know if this is true but its what i heard from by previous porn stars who are now trying to prevent girls from joining the adult industry

True, but (at least in my experience) it is deeply, clearly understood that the peace of mind that the condom brings is worth the sacrifice.
