Thread: funny revenge story
- 07-21-2014 #21
Do you really feel more manly for vandalizing your neighbors yard? A person with a mental disorder no less. And because everyone who has responded would have handled it differently, you seem to think that we have lost our manhood! There are times in life, no matter the injustice you may feel has been put upon you where you just have to be the better person and walk away. To retaliate in the manner you did and then brag about it, wow, there's more than one crazy person in this story!

Bolkonsky,
While the law of karma is certainly about causality (cause and effect), at no time does it give one permission or justification to seek revenge. Humans are each responsible for their own karma only. We are not a "Karma Delivery Service" - meting out punishments or correcting others through similar (or worse) devious paybacks; that is the responsibility of the God/Higher Power/Universal Energy/Omnipotent Being.
Also, it is the intentionality of our thoughts rather than the deed itself that determines how, when and with whom our karmic debt will be repaid - bad or good.
Karma is not about personal retribution (an eye for an eye) but a system of universal checks and balances. You will most certainly reap what you sow and yes, like begets like but it is God/Higher Power who determines how that will play out, not us.
So rather than attempt to justify your premeditated (and costly) act as karma, it is perhaps best to call it what it truly was...an anger-fueled act of revenge.Last edited by TPW; 07-21-2014 at 09:33 AM.

Oh you westerners.....you have got karma absolutely wrong.
Karma is simply fate. You see Indians believe our fate is written on the forehead.Swami's and other holy men can supposedly read our fate [ by looking at the forehead ] just as Taoists can supposedly see our auras.
It is also referred to as " Kismet " in hindi.A common sight is Indian people tapping their foreheads/drawing three fingers across it and saying " It is my karma/kismet " referring to a PRE PLANNED DESTINY supposedly written on the forehead.
The concept is good and evil karma which westerners wrongly refer to is actually the Paapa/Punya [ Sin/Good deeds ] concept which refer to our deeds.
If something bad happens people say " I am being punished for my Paapas [ sins ]/What Paapa did i commit in my previous life ".
If something good happens then they say " I must have done some Punya [ good deeds ]/I must have accumulated Punya in my previous birth "
Such is the meaning of Karma and Paapa/Punya.
Now Bolonsky has committed Paapa by killing grass and harming the earth. He must do some penance/punya to redeem himself.
Or he shall be born as a stunted Brinjal in his next birth.
