I want to make a kind of a staff with a glowing orb on the top. I think I should be able to do it by recessing the orb (probably like a Christmas ornament type of ball with a stem on it) into the staff with an LED wired down into the shaft, and some kind of battery hookup. I've found some LEDs on 30CM wires on Ebay for cheap, but although I have done some minor soldering it was all repair stuff and nothing that I've put together. I'm definitely looking for tips, tricks, advice, how-to etc. Please?
