  • Help Wanted for Porn Addiction

    Hello everyone, it's time I did something about my porn addiciton, yet I'm really in need of help from some experienced PE guys and people who have been in the same situation.

    I watch porn (and thus jerk off) every day at least once, but often twice or even three times. I stopped 'racing towards the PONT' a while ago so that's a relief, but the problem is in the fact that it's become such a habit that I simply "don't know what else to do" at times.

    As for my PE, I do regular, bundled and mandingo stretches everyday as well as jelqing and clamping. This is where another problem arises: during clamping I always watch porn to make it easier, which basically always leads to me going for an orgasm 15 minutes after I've finished the exercises.

    I'm trying to focus more on my imagination etc. but I'd like to recieve some proper advice on here as well...

    Also, I've seen the X number of days without porn challenges as well, but I find it hard to commit to something like that as of now... I would like to see if someone on here can help me get past this problem and also find a solution for my PE related porn watching.

    Okay so tell me how do I stop you from watching something that is harming you yet you have the controls? How about I come over and take your computer; would that help? This is something you have to do for yourself!

      But ofcourse I do! I just don't know 'where to start' in terms of tips or tricks that others use or have used to take their mind off of this habit...

        Sure. Here are a couple of things you can do:

        1. Put a blocker on your computer to block yourself from all pornographic sites.
        2. Replace porn with something. Meditate. Learn to cook. Hit the gym. Read a book. You have to replace what you used to do with something else.

        If that still doesn't work, try this:

        Write out a cheque to someone close to you for 100 dollars. Tell them your story. Then say "I'm having trouble holding myself accountable. I'm going to contact you every day to tell you if I have or haven't looked at porn. If I have, cash the cheque - the money is yours."
        Put in place something that's more painful than watching porn itself.

        Or maybe get rid of your computer. Give it to someone else to hold for 3 months.

          I've done step 2 and will try to hit the gym more... Will also post in my progress thread if I can keep it up...

            Find another habit.......Take up smoking Take a look at my thread on getting off porn, the end of this month will be two years. Commit to a better you and just do it. You and your females in your future with out porn will be far better off. Look at the big picture a long way down the road as the man you will become. That said it starts as a day to day fight and then a without porn habit. Just stay focused and lean on us here. TAAB

              I'm 11 days porn free!! I downloaded a block (free on Chrome) and let my brother put a password in there!!it is a big help for me!than i started to play guitar,cook and play tennis!!just keep your mind busy and in 2-3 months we won't think about porn anymore!!WE CAN DO IT!

                    I wonder what my girlfriend would say to that. For those of who wonder, I see her about 2/3 days a week.

                      It'd be good for you to have some accountability to someone too. Come and join us in the AP90 buddy (use the search function for AP90).

                      It's nice to post there with successes etc and see other guys working towards the same goal as you, all at different stages of their journey.

                      In terms of how to actually kick the habit, I've found the best way (as TAAB says) is not to think "right, my first goal is to go a month without porn" or whatever - sometimes those goals can feel overwhelming, especially if you're craving a bit of porn. Take it one day at a time - just focus on not watching porn "today" - and if you can do that repeatedly, you'll watch the days rack up.

                          Thanks again for the advice! I do have to point out that I'm going for a no-fapping-to-porn (or watching porn) challenge that includes images and/or videos. Leaving imagination out is currently a step too far, I mean, can't I even fantasize about my GF?! So no AP90 for me as of now.

                          And yes, I do take this day by day... No "I'm going for a year without porn" goal from the get go.

                          Having started this has already had some effect on my psychologically it seems: I'm quite close to a horny-state most of the time and my penis goes semi-erect all the time. This is going to be difficult..

                            Sounds like my situation a few months ago. I started taking college classes and did light PE when I would normally watch porn. Eventually, I stopped thinking about it and now I'm fairly confident that I'm over porn altogether. Don't give up. The rewards are worth the effort.

                              Well, I can actually relate to some of the things you said as well. Basically every time I get horny now I clamp or do some other exercises, while keeping an eye out for not overtraining my unit.
