Does it matter in the least bit who becomes the next president? My god, if a Republican president agreed to the Iran deal the Democrats would be screaming bloody murder, while his party followers would say it is the best we can get. If a Democratic president got us into the Iraq conflict using faulty intelligence the party would still say go for it, while the Republicans would have called for his head. It freakin doesn't matter.

I can't wait for this to happen though - remember the scene in A Few Good Men when Tom Cruise gets Jack Nicholson to lose it - "You want the truth, you can't handle the truth!". Trump vs Hillary in a debate, and she simply eggs him on until he goes all Jack Nicholson on her. It will be epic!!!

Well I would say Donald is far better than Clinton. I won't go into all the faults Hillary has so I'll stick with Donald.

So he gave money to politicians; how does that make him bad? I've given money to some guys so why can't he? Is there a law against that? So let's say he gave money to politicians so he could get some favors from them when he needed them. So if giving money courts favor then if you don't need the money then no lobbyist can come and collect what is owed can he? So what do you want; a guy beholden to special interest or a guy that just does what he feels needs to be done?

Now what do I feel is Trumps strengths? Well he gets things done, one way or the other. He has been a great manager throughout his career. I think that's what a president should do best; manage things. Trump has always attracted the smartest guys around for whatever project he undertook. If he attracted the same smart people maybe we can gt he VA Hospital fixed so our vets won't suffer. Instead of appointing political people to do jobs there were not capable of doing wouldn't it be nice to appoint people, regardless of party, that knew what they were doing and could get things done?

He's definitely more qualified than Clinton; but I feel sometimes his loyalties get switched around too easily.

All things that I would hope a good business minded president would do if given a chance. But I'm personally to the point I don't think I can trust the system anymore.

He goes and gets smart people. From where? More elitist academics or experienced policy wonks who may be good at doing stuff, but usually the same stuff that's always been done. Maybe stuff at the other end of the pendulum' swing, but still the same stuff. And, whether he is sincere or not, those trusty advisors' main skills are usually butt coverage, their own and the boss'. Not covering their asses from being called out by us proles, but from this or that special interest group. Which just leads to more of the same stuff.

Ah, I know I sound all Daisy Doomsday, but I'm a bit disillusioned after the last few series of "voting for the guys who'll turn it all around."

Who's the best on getting the most out of a budget? You know those guys too. Environment? Well he has dealt with that in his buildings and golf courses in aquiring permits. What regulations are good and what are just plain stupid?

Create jobs? That what guys like that do. They make no money, or does the country, by sitting around. Go build something, go make something. That made America and her people great and that is what Trump has done in his career.

One thing is for sure, these executive actions on Immigration policy need to go! No one should be allowed to just sit there and sign such potential catastrophies into 'order' when indeed the economic results have been turned a blind eye. I don't trust most politicians either, there's too many lobbyists and 'under-the-table' deals to really get a grasp of whats going on. It's very clear that 'special interests' are being given way too much leverage and attention. This needs to stop or the country is going to be headed into a second Civil War and streets flooded with angry aggressive unscrupulous anarchists.

Disillusioned, dissatisfied, frustrated and just fed up with the government today, you bet I am. It seems like now days you are not voting for the best candidate, you are voting for the lesser of two evils. I haven't seen a candidate that has impressed me in a long time.

I'd have to agree with that...they are not going to come out and admit they are being pressured into altering one of their 'original' actions or amending something that would've been prosperous - when they turn dark we really don't know..and almost all of them do at some point!

He would have to be pretty good at demolition too though. Because there is a significant amount of the bureaucratic state that would have to be torn down to accomplish even a fraction of what needs to be done. And among all the people who say "yeah, enough of this sh**", we've gotten to the point where too many will say with the next breath, "oh, wait, don't touch this other sh**, I need that."

Again, not trying to be a naysayers but I imagine a Trump presidency where the Congress, even if under the control of the GOP would fight him, if what he claims he would do, he does. I would even go as far as to say they'd be more willing to impeach a Trump for the smallest slight than they would a BHO for outright violation of his oath.

Man, when did I become so pessimistic? Oh, right, it's the politics thread.
