This country needs to get the spending under control, reduce the debt, stop the flow of money out of this country and manage the government in a way to get things done without all the bureaucracy slowing thing down. Who are the people that have proven themselves to be the best qualified to do that, CEO's. Unfortunately their skills pay a hell of a lot more working for Fortune 500 companies.

Well, if talk of political races was a conversation stopper - how about a broader topic.

Political correctness, microagressions, trigger warnings, and speech codes, etc.

The following is from a site called thecollegefix dot com, in the article, Californian Professors Instructed to Say "America is the land of opportunity" -

“America is the land of opportunity,” “There is only one race, the human race” and “I believe the most qualified person should get the job” are among a long list of alleged microaggressions faculty leaders of the University of California system have been instructed not to say.

These so-called microaggressions – considered examples of subconscious racism – were presented at faculty leader training sessions held throughout the 2014-15 school year at nine of the 10 UC campuses. The sessions, an initiative of UC President Janet Napolitano, aim to teach how to avoid offending students and peers, as well as how to hire a more diverse faculty.

Right on! That is why I now self identify as a female, non-white of course, named Iroquois Tahini Tofu. I may even try to get into an Ivy League school, or at least a girls' locker room somewhere.

It's my opinion that it is purposeful for you or I to be confused about what is appropriate to say. The rules are ever changing because that alone allows for the concept of oppressor/victim to be ever malleable. And, for those of us who might defend ourselves from a claim of some infraction of the P/C rules, our very words in our defense can be used to indict us, or as it has now become, our very skin tone or gender or country of origin.

Really? We have a black president, a woman running for the Democratic nomination, who oppressed them? This is the land of opportunity, not the land of hand outs. The opportunities are there for everyone now days. Someone, anyone, just needs to seize the opportunity and work hard at and earn it to be successful.
