Really, who would have possibly thought that. And having a picture of the Clinton Presidential Library as your Avatar speaks volumes to your your liberal leanings.
The degree in economics from a prominent University that hangs on my wall should hold some weight while you spout of the standard tactic of the left to be sure to insult the person you are having a discussion with. The next tactic is to spout some ridiculous claim as truth and then ask me to refute it. I'm not falling prey to that dribble and you believe what you want to believe.
The "pay your fair share" crap started with your mentor Clinton and it turns my stomach every time it dribbles out of someones mouth. Your assumptions make absolutely no sense except in your mind. To say that food stamp recipients drive any portion of the economy is a fallacy, other than the fact that the money gets spent. What it assumes is that that money would not have been spent better if it stayed in the producers own pocket. I own my own small business, I'm not wealthy, but do you think my having additional resources to "hire" someone would be more beneficial than having those funds taken away and given piecemeal to others. I think they would rather have a job than a handout. Yes, we need a social safety net to help those that are down. But it shouldn't turn into a way of living. BTW, more people on food stamps right now than in the history of the program. Nice that they can boost the economy for us.
Fair share in health care, really. The assumptions here are that the insurance companies were losing money before this train wreck was passed. Nope, double my rates so that you can subsidize someone else's rate. So we can provide "affordable" insurance for all. Ummmm, Still just as many uninsured now as there was before. And the penalty for not getting your insurance was ridiculously low and provides zero incentive to sign up. But the true crap has yet to hit the fan as the penalty increases over time. And wait until all the fawning masses figure out that to pay for their mandated insurance, the government will simply confiscate that wonderful tax refund check they used to get every April. That going to go over really well, won't it.
Lastly, for this rant is the belief that business's exist in order to hire people and pay people and provide them with cradle to grave benefits. That the government should dictate how much money they are allowed to make. That you can increase the cost of doing business to pay for these social programs without consequence. It doesn't cost the business one dime. Instead, those costs are passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices on everything we purchase. Priced a new car lately? Gone grocery shopping lately? Oh, and why you are at it, why not change the way inflation is calculated to show that there is close to zero inflation (everything is rosy). Beef prices have doubled, pork prices have doubled. Those that have not gone up now come in smaller packages to hide the price increases. Yep, my blinders are certainly on.
Can't wait for the next volley of insults. :pop2:
