Random off topic from ACA and insurance.
Hillary Clinton just said she does not support the a reinstatement of the Glass-Steagall act.
Basically the Glass-Steagall act barred large financial institutes from dabbling in trading securities.
The Great Depression was caused when credit markets used Bank Mortgages and Loans as a backing for a securities trade system. When that system erupted, traders and bank executives jumped out of Manhattan windows and people lost their farms and homes. Banks went upside down and people lost their savings.
The exact same thing happened when Glass-Steagall was removed during Bill Clinton's presidency (Under pressure from a republican controlled house and senate). You heard a lot about "Mortgage Backed Securities." It was all the same exact thing this time around up to 2008 when the whole system fell apart again. People lost their homes, lost their retirements when the banks closed. People got evicted.
Glass-Steagall was incredibly effective until Reagan administration poked some severely large holes in its restriction on financial institutions. those holes and other poked by the first bush administration opened financial institutions enough to create the Savings and Loans (S&L) crisis in the 80s.
Clinton has no desire to stop banks from crashing the country again. I just really have no desire to vote for that.Last edited by somebodyelse; 10-09-2015 at 11:11 AM.

I'm a computer engineer, and the job market has never been so good. Look on career builder, there are crazy. We can't even find qualified computer engineers to fill our jobs. The problem is not a lack of jobs, it's a lack of education or qualifications. I didn't go to school, but I make six figures because I busted my ass learning something useful. I could get six figure job anywhere in the world. If you have no skills and nothing to offer, you are worthless to the job market. I'm a liberal, but I also believe in personal responsibility. Blaming unemployment on Obama when there are plenty of jobs is ridiculous. If have no skills, that's your problem. We can't create just create jobs for people that have nothing to contribute. I believe those jobs are reserved for illegal immigrants, or McDonalds.

I'm self employed ( business owner) so I pay it
Plus my zip code is expensive. Like I said I was ok with what I was paying. But my sons doubled and mine went up 30+%. Stuck but I'll do it until I can't.
I am a loser for the ACA because I have health problems do they spend a ton of money on me. Even at $12000 per year in premiums I cost them more than triple than that a year. Hence I will take their rates. The Dick is the Best Toy Ever!

PS. I agree with DM up there.
We have hundreds of vacant positions no qualified candidates.
All 75k to six figure or higher jobs.
Then you have the hoppers. The ones that have had four+ jobs a year for past three years applying. Tweaking their resume hoping to steal a few months high pay. Shhhit no thanks. They don't realize your employment history is all tracked. We see everyone whose ever paid you and anyone you said you worked for on a credit app. Not so slick..The Dick is the Best Toy Ever!

So let's say a family that chose by their God given right in this great democratic country of ours to not have health insurance gets into an unfortunate auto wreck and all of them end up in the hospital and some of them need major surgery - who the hell pays for it? Comparing that to being forced to buy coca cola - yea right - brilliant comparison. As for this being the worst administration in the history of this country - while you are free to say whatever you want - some would say the previous administration - you know the one that saw the collapse of Wall Street and engineered a war based on false information they knew to be untrue - might be just a little bit worse. But then again right is right and left is wrong - and fuck silly things like facts and reality.

About the need for major surgery. Extremely simple answer when you use common sense which by the way, is not that common anymore. Who pays for it? The patient of course!! Who else?? Are you implying that I should pay for it?? Why the f? So is very simple and wonderful the socialistic way. I can eat mcdonalds every day of my life, smoke 2 packs of cigs a day, smoke weed everyday, snort cocaine every weekend, then I KNOW I will get health problems sooner or later. But you know what? I don't give a f! Why? because the others pay for it!! yoo-hoo!!! Obamaland!!
Bullcrap. Just pain Bullcrap. Be accountable for your own life. Own your responsibilities and problems. You do not pass them to others.
Now, do we have a problem with health and accessibility to people? Absolutely. Is Obamacare or any stupid tyrant communist plan like that the solution? Absolutely not. Only a perverse mind could come up with a solution like that.
And nope, Bush years were not even near as bad as Obama. Obama has been just an anti american tyrant doing absolutely everything against the people of The United States. True, under Bush administration all those regulations after 9/11 lead to the economic recession, but Obama did absolutely nothing to improve the situation. Even more, he has been an obstacle for the private sector that on its own had to regulate the market and come back afloat.
Remember Obama was a community organizer. In other words, he was panhandling to companies to then give that money away to bums. He didn't even finish one term as a senator. And now he is a President? just look at the bunch of mental ill people he use to listen to and follow. No more comments needed.

Jackxxx, you completely missed the point. People go to the ER, the hospital fixes them, costs lots of money, the patient walks out the door. Who pays the bill? Not the patient. Before Obamacare, yes, you would pay the bill. I would pay the bill. All with increased pricing. Now, if everyone has insurance, you don't pay the bill. I don't pay the bill. That's how it works. Poor people with no insurance go the hospital, have babies, $25k+, then walk out the door. You pay for that. I pay for that. I don't want to pay for that. Ergo, Obamacare. Everyone can have insurance so taxpayers don't pay for other people's problems. Not saying it's perfect, but it's step.
I feel the problem with Conservative congressman is they don't do anything. Nothing. No ideas how to make things all better. I feel like their only job is to oppose any Democratic policies, but they have nothing of their own. Republicans took over the House and Senate, yet they have not passed a single Bill to fix anything. They have zero alternatives to Obamacare, yet they don't want it. They want to just keep everything the way it is, even if it doesn't work. I would love to hear some ideas from Republicans. Nothing on immigration, nothing on healthcare, nothing on jobs. Nothing on ISIS. Yet, all they do is criticize Democrats for actually trying to do things.Last edited by dmizzle; 10-10-2015 at 02:00 PM.
