Okay so why does God hate homosexuals? Any thoughts?

God doesn't hate homosexuals, He doesn't hate anyone- the most famous new testament verse John 3:16. The Bible is an instruction book for how to live life. It doesn't hide the failures of man, it points them out! The Bible talks about "sin", what is that anyway? The old King James version of the Bible uses that word to describe what we consider to be bad, but really the word "sin" was more of a military archery term. When you shot your arrow at the target and you missed the bullseye they would say you "sinned" or missed the mark. So what does "sin" mean? It means you missed the mark. What mark? The mark of perfection. Nobody is perfect, we have all sinned, or missed the mark, there are two types of sin. The sin of commission (things we did that we shouldn't have done), and the sin of omission (things we should have done, but didn't do). So we are all guilty in the eyes of God.

However the Bible says that in God's infinite wisdom he created a way to pardon us from all sin, an "atonement". God became a physical man (Jesus the Christ), and Christ's mission in life was to die on a cross to make a payment for our sins, past, present and future. This was prophesized prior to the birth of Christ. Prophecy means to "speak the word of God".

So God offers us a gift, the gift is forgiveness of all our sin. All we need to do is accept that gift by faith. We then live our lives in such a way as to show gratitude to God / Christ for the penalty He paid for us.

When is comes to the sin of homosexuality, God says it is a deviation from His intended purpose of a man and woman. God also says that adultery is a sin, pedophilia is a sin, beastyality is a sin. These are all contrary to God's intended purpose or instructions on how to properly live life.

We must remember that ancient writers in all societies were pretty smart guys. They saw what was happening in the world around them and tried to give meaning to why such things occurred.

Anal sex can cause disease. Even today those that indulge in it take some precautions. If you read the writings of what were considered physicians of the day, especially early Greek and Roman writings, they describe in great detail of the deaths of men, and yes even boys, with the symptoms of what we call today peritonitis.

Disease was also transferred to women because we guys are horny. After we did our friend George we went home and did the wife as well. Transferring anal bacteria into the vagina can cause some nasty issues and without antibiotics people died.

Tearing of the lining of the bowel, anal bacteria in the man's urethra, anal bacteria inside the vagina; well as these people got sick and died what were they to think? They thought what they always thought; this must be a punishment from God.


Now we also should remember that often in Biblical texts there was a word that kind of meant "unnatural" or contrary to nature. In some of St Pauls writings he used that word and said that God acted unnatural, contrary to nature. Well did he mean God acted immorally? No. That very same word, since words usually have different meanings, meant "unexpected".

Widows and orphans were a drain on ancient society. As some of these guys died, and women died, and kids died, well who was going to take care of those left behind? If you as a man ended up dying because you screwed every guy you knew and some sheep at the same time you were creating a greater drain than the society could bear. What better way to get guys to stop doing that than to say "God will punish you"!

In my own research in original translations of clay tablets, I haven't found any statement saying that The Gods hate homosexuals. Homosexuality is something that has always been there through the history of humankind ever since the creation took place. And it was even more prevalent before. Just look at those parties thrown in the Roman Empire or the Greek Empire in which gladiators were brought in, senators where performing oral sex on gladiators with the biggest cocks and having their wives being fucked by them. Even Alexander the great was known to have his 14-15 year old boyfriend with him always in the battle field. Same with Achilles who was a demigod. Son of a human male and Goddess female.

Perhaps one deity made come comment against homosexuality, but again, that is one out of many. and one of the biggest mistakes I still see in this thread is talk about God. Forget about God. It is The Gods. The whole civilization came here.

If you are going to talk about God, please specify which one are you adopting as your God in order to understand his position. So far the only ones who were instructed to worship a specific God was the Jews. Enlil (Jaweh) Specifically instructed them to worship only him and nobody else.

All of us who are not Jewish, were created and never specified which one to worship and follow. We have been at the mercy of the two main brothers Enlil and Enki still waiting to see what they have decided to do with us once they come back.

Without trying to be overly controversial, just want to let you know what the Bible says...
In Revelation 21:6 God identifies himself as "Alpha and Omega." Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and omega is the last letter of the alphabet. In other words God is "the beginning and the end."
But God isn't speaking about alphabets. He is speaking of reality. God is absolutely the beginning and absolutely the end. Everything that is originates ultimately in him. And everything will somehow end with him.

The Bible rejects pantheism.

Isn't is funny how we argue about God. Jack calls him Ningish something. Some call him Zeus. Someone called him "The Force". ( yup Star Wars). We're all talking about the same thing. Funny we believed "the force" but we don't believe when he has different names.

Unfortunately if you read stats todays diseases are more transmitted by heterosexuals. Gay lifestyle seems to be much better healthwise.

Especially true in Africa.... where the truckers hit the prostitutes at all the truck stops and then come home to their wives and infect them.
People need to understand the AIDS virus can potentially go through a condom, and condoms aren't always 100% fail proof!
STD's are the result of a bad or unhealthy behavior, just like lung cancer is primarily the result of smoking.
