Ok made the order for the safety razor, blades, shaving brush. Blades are expensive from that spot where I ordered so will be getting a bigger package from amazon where there is like 100 blades. Lastly got a stand that can hold the safety razor and the brush.
Decided to get this safety razer:Merkur Traditional Silver -
Got also some great hair wax. Will be interesting and exciting.
Thanks a lot for the advice especially to TheAnimal. I guess I will update after a month or two how I'm liking the process.Last edited by PurpleOnes; 05-24-2016 at 08:29 AM.

First shave done with the safety razor and I really enjoyed it felt easy too no cuts at all. I thought that I would nick myself but none of that.
Instantly got a better shave than with cartridge blades. Mostly was careful with the neck area. I'm glad I switched to using safety razor.
I will work on my technique with it and shaving will get only better. The shaving brush I bought was not good although it was cheap but I think in like month or two I will invest in a proper shaving brush found some good badger hair brushes.
Since the current cheap one will not cut it I mean during first use some of the hairs fell off.Start: 8/2013: BPEL: 6.3" EG: 5.1"

It has been probably three years now since I switched to DE razors. I have six of them. For the most part each gives a different shave. Especially the '65 Gillette Fat Boy. I want to move up to a straight just not ready to make that investment yet. I want to purchase a good one.
I have at ten soaps and two creams. I only use pre shave for the creams. They tend to dry faster than soaps. I prefer soaps over creams any day.
I always bloom the brush and soap before shaving. Blooming is like animal said soaking brush in warm or hot water. Blooming the soap is putting a thin layer of warm water on the soap for about ten minutes. Enough time to take a shower wash your face and open those pores. I lather my soaps up for 25 to 30 seconds in the bowl.
On blades you can find some really good deals on the net. I bought a fifty blade sample pack for about $12.00.
I have two badger brushes, a boar hair brush and one synthetic brush which is garbage.
Purple I think I know that 100 blade deal you are talking about. Too late now but maybe you should've held off on getting 100 blades of the same kind. In a sample pack a had a while back there was one blade. First shave with it and it nicked me up big time. Told some people about it on a FB shaving page and some people loved that particular blade.
I also find to keep the nicks to minimum to zero is to keep you skin tight, especially the neck.
All I can say is that I am not going back to cartridge shaving. Wet shaving is and can be addictive.
Shave on.I like to reminisce with people I don't know. Steven Wright

Thinking of getting now the straight razor not sure which one to get though.
Safety razor is good but not getting that close shave with it and also need to do touch up with my gillette cartridge blade as far as my small chin beard goes and my moustaches.
I assume you also need this long strap or belt to keep the blade in condition?
Probably after this can is used I will never use Gillette's or any other kind can shaving cream or gel since it does not foam well and just does not feel good. I will either get shaving soap or better shaving cream.
Lastly either this month or next month I will probably make a switch to badger brush since the current one I use is cheap and I bet more quality brush will be better and do a better job.Last edited by PurpleOnes; 10-28-2016 at 01:31 AM.
