  • Another newbie: hi, all!

    Hi all - been lurking for a bit more than a year now, finally decided to try and get serious!

    Background: married for 10+ years, several kids. Wife is def a LL, has been for some years now, and I am most definitely an HL - even more so over the past 12 months (fixed some meds, started regular workouts). Hamster in my head started spinning and wondering if it was something about *me* that was causing her to be LL (maybe just with me..? *gasp*), internet research/panic commenced, and that's how I stumbled on this site. Anyway, past all of that now, but I'm still interested in better penis health overall and in whatever gains I can achieve.

    So, about jwsouth jr: I'm 5.5" BPEL and 4.5" MEG. Length I can live with (but hey, any more would be awesome), but I would really love another 0.5" of girth. Pretty fit overall (155-ish, ~18% BF) and working on getting leaner.

    Been a regular porn consumer for a long time, so I'm trying to cut that completely out for all the reasons that have been much discussed on these forums and elsewhere. Related: trying to better regulate my masturbation - and hopefully replace it with more frequent sex!

    The biggest wrinkle: my wife isn't really on board with PE. She claims to be satisfied with my dimensions as they are - and while I believe that's mostly true, a few fun experiences with Viagra have demonstrated that she REALLY enjoyed even the *extremely slight* gains I got from the magic sex pills. So, I think this is a simple case of her being truthful in that she's not *dissatisfied* with my size, but then again a little bit bigger would be pretty awesome too Still, the bottom line is she's not really a fan or on board with PE, so that's an ongoing challenge.

    Given that constraint, it's pretty tough to stick to any of the recommended beginner programs. Tried JP90 for a week, but given the hectic schedule and virtual impossibility of getting an uninterrupted hour with my penis in my hand and it not seeming weird, it was pretty hard to stay on schedule.

    So, that's me. Still trying to figure out the best way to navigate the no-support issues with her, while trying to figure out a routine for either eventuality (either she's on board or not). Thoughts, feedback, suggestions are all welcome!

      Hey JW!

      Welcome to the Gym

      It would be a good idea to click on the Start Here button at the top left of the page. Lots of good information on what the Gym is all about, including best practices and safety tips.

      It is always recommended to start with a beginners routine (doesn't have to be the JP) by and continue with it for 90 days or until you stop gaining. Start slowly and build up to the full routine over a few weeks.

      Jelq with an erection level between 40 and 70%. Do not grip too tight, just enough to feel blood moving up the shaft. When stretching, grab your shaft about one inch below the glans and do not pull too hard, just enough to to feel a slight stretch. Let your PIs be your guide as to how hard to peruse your routine.

      You can always do 20 minutes in the bathroom while getting ready in the morning and again at night. I also do stretching under the covers at night.

      Dont forget to take good starting measurements and photos so you have a solid base to compare your gains to.

      PE safely and good luck with your endeavors.

        Hey not2big - thanks for the greeting I've spent quite a bit of time on the "Start Here" links, but I could also probably stand with a refresher - so thanks for the reminder!

        I was actually considering doing something more like babbi's lighter beginner's routine - it's shorter and something I think I can do fairly inconspicuously in the shower. We'll see.

        Also: minor typo (I think) in your text - seems like it should be "pursue" instead of "peruse your routine". Maybe?

                    Welcome to the gym!

                    It sounds like you have been educating yourself, that's great. It can be difficult to find the time For PE with a busy schedule. Spending an hour on the exercises for someone just starting out may be a bit too much. You should be able to complete the routine about 25 - 35 minutes.

                    As far as your wife goes, tell her your doing it for penile health. If she noticed a difference with the Viagra then explain to her that your goal is to improve your EQ to that level without having to take the blue pill.

                        That's why I like bappis' routine - seems like a solid start that's short enough for me to realistically get through regularly.

                          Two other likely salient bits of personal info that I left out of my first post...

                          Turkey neck: even before starting any PE, I've got some crazy turkey neck going on. As it's a topic that's been thrashed to death, I'll only add my personal perspective: (1) it's never been a big deal for sex, (2) I do think it affects appearance, but that's not a huge priority for me (see: married), but (3) it makes "proper" jelq technique really challenging. I really struggle getting a good OK grip down by my base without dragging up a whole crapton of TN skin :/

                          Vasectomy aftereffects: had a vasectomy done ~3 years back, and it adjusted the dangle of muh boys - they ride a bit higher most of the time now. Frankly, I think this was part of why the bad turkey neck developed, but whatever - it is what it is. For the most part, the vasectomy aftereffects don't impact PE at all - I only mention it by way of completeness

                              Read through a lot of posts about two weeks ago about TN - seemed to find a common theme among a few that had to do with stretching the skin on the underside of the shaft, specifically the section between a point about midway up (right above where my TN ends) and just below the glans. Been doing that some along with my normal warm-up/-down stretches. Who knows if it'll have an impact, but: play every card you can, says I

                              Also: saw one user discussing some success with wearing a ball stretcher for several hours every other day or so - actually went and picked one up, but my post-vas high-riding boys make that more difficult than it should be (unless I'm nice and hot, fresh out of the shower lol) so I've laid off of that for now, sticking to the stretch technique for now. Will re-eval at 60 and 90 days in.
