  • Weak/overworked muscle

    Good afternoon, this last week my pf was kinda imabalanced but I don't know what to do to start fixing it
    Should I stretch, should I strengthen?
    I don't know
    Case 1 - weak muscles: tight weak pelvic floor
    Case 2 - Overworked muscles: tight weak pelvic floor

    So it's tricky because they have pratically the same symptoms
    My question is: how can I enditify myself in which case I belong 1or 2? And what progrzm should i do to fix it?

    Hey, asphalt, welcome to the jungle! So, are you saying you have recently felt like your pf was kinda imbalanced, or has this been going on longer than that? Also, what are the symptoms?

    My normal recommendations tend to include both stretch and strengthen, but there are others on this site who know more about specific cases. Give us a bit more info about your symptoms and the amount of time you've been dealing with them, and we can weigh in.

      Hey bro, thank you I just checked by coincidence I didn't think someone would answer thank you again

      Though I can't really describe my symptoms
      All I can say is that since two weeks my pelvic floor feels weird and imbalanced

      - My mind have this consciousness over pelvic floor all the time, before i only notice my PF when i need to go to the toilet or while having an erection

      - I can't perform/feel a kegel and reverse kegel

      - My penis sometimes shrinks sometimes no

      - My balls are higher than usual

      - I always have that feeling that I need to kegel

      - In those two weeks everytime I ejaculate I dribble unlike before when I used to shoot past my head

      - Surprisingly I have good long lasting morning woods every morning

      Like I said before my explanation is all messed up, I'll really appreciate if you or another gentleman can give me an article or some yes/no questions to see if my symptoms matches the case

      This PF imbalance has forced me to stop pe because you need a constant good eq for it
      So if possible i would like to fix my problem first then proceed to pe

        Okay, so I want to be sure I have this straight.

        For about the last two weeks, you've been feeling these symptoms you describe (can't effectively kegel or rk, balls higher than usual, penis shrinks, less ejaculate, etc), correct?

        Before that these symptoms were not present, correct?

        How long were you PE'ing prior to these symptoms?

        Do you watch much porn?

        How is your weight/health in general?

        Any low back pain or hip dysfunction?

          - Correct except ejaculation, i ejaculate big loads as usual but now i dribble instead of shooting

          - Yes

          - didn't start pe yet

          - No i quitted 77 days ago

          - great, I workout 3x week

          - I have an hyperlodosis no apt and a tight/weak right hip

            Rid the tension and strengthen. Rid the tension with massage and stretches that target the area.

            Strengthen with kegels, but only do kegels while your pelvic floor is loose/relaxed.

            Stay away from erect / high intensity kegels for awhile.

              Ok. Sounds like we have a baseline now. Hyperlordosis almost always indicates apt in my experience, but I'll take you at your word that's not an issue. Regardless, simple things like cat/cow yoga vinyasa and even bird-dog warmup would be a good idea.

              I agree with Jay that it sounds you're over tense. Hindi Squats are often recommended for reducing residual tension on the PF. I also think contract-and-release techniques on a Lacrosse or Tennis Ball can be very effective for reducing excess residual tone. I would concentrate on those two things before thinking too much about kegels/strengthening.

              If you need more information about Hindi Squats, just do an internet search. Also, if you need more info on the contract-and-release stuff you can search YouTube for "Kelly Starrett Restoring Pelvic Floor Function". He has several videos out there I highly recommend.
