  • Hi, I'm new here, any advice?

    Hi, forum!

I'm a 22 year old child cancer survivor (had my bladder and prostate removed when I was a baby) struggling with ED. While there must have been quite a lot of nerve/tissue damage due to the operation, it's not like I don't have erections at all. It's more like they come in spells. For instance, last week I managed to get pretty decent ones* while masturbating, almost every day; this week I haven't had any luck so far.

*for my standards anyway... the most I've stayed hard for is 2 min, tops, and if I'm lucky, on a good day, my penis grows to 4 inches fully erect.

Before anyone tells me to seek medical help, I already have. An urologist prescribed a NPT test which my medical insurance didn't cover and I was too skint to afford. At any rate, as far as I could tell all that test did was sort psychological from physiological causes (go to a shrink or start taking viagra) and I'm pretty sure at least there ain't nothing wrong with my head. Other than that, I'm regularly tested from top to bottom (other tests my medical insurance does cover xD) and I seem to be (as) ok (as I can be), so I'd rule out vascular problems, etc.

I've tried Kegels and having things like ginseng tea, green tea, dark chocolate, avocado, etc, etc, without much luck, though I must confess I wasn't very consistent in my efforts nor did I have much of a clue what I was doing :P.

That's pretty much it, thanks for taking the time to read and I'd so appreciate it if you could give me some advice or share something that's worked for you in a similar situation.

    Cheers!

    Hi Walter7654, to the Gym!

    Don't miss this thread!!!

And if you haven't already done so, please READ THIS Thread, Maximize Your Success Here and focus on safety, you only have one penis, take good care of it.

A regular and reverse kegels routine should help improve blood flow to the penis and improve erection quality.

I think that being able to get erections is a good sign, you can improve that time with PE and stamina exercises, start with a light routine (like PESG's), and move up as you progress, PE is a long term process, take your time, and research the forums, ask questions if you have any, we'll be glad to help!

Pay attention to your PIs, your penis is trying to tell you if you are over working, or you are in the growth zone, aim for positive PIs, and steer away from the negative ones.

Physiologic Indicators (PIs) to Help Penis Growth!

    What to Expect....A Beginner's Guide

    Good Luck!

          Welcome Walter (roooarr) .

I hope kegels and jelqing can help you with your ereciton problems, definitely start with very low intensity (low Erection level and light grip when you jelq), just to get the blood moving down there and increase your Erection Quality.

Starting a detailed log in the progress forum is a good idea, although the most important thing for you now is to read the threads in safety and follow all the advice , and read the links given above.

Low pumping is said to help , wait the first few months before considering this possibility.

Well let's just say inconsistency won't help although you already know that.

Now a test to determine if the cause is mental or physical, well maybe you should try saving up for that one. For all the years that I have been here and heard a guy say it's not in his head, well I'll bet 90% were mental and not physical at all. Now face it; you must have some doubt whether it's mental of physical. Save up, do it, and then you'll know for sure. The best way to beat a problem is to know exactly what the problem is; not to surmise what it is. God luck.

Welcome to the Gym. You might explain the problem with insurance coverage to the neurologist. Often these doctors can administer treatments so they are covered by your insurance. Also Dont criticize yourself for something being just in your head. Your brain controls everything and loving it is just as important as loving your penis. Enjoy your journey and good luck.

I have ED as a result of diabetes. As mentioned above, a light jelqing routine and kegels help. I know you mentioned you are a bit light on cash; however, I found that pulse pumping helped quite a bit. You might want to check out the Pumping Subforum under the Devices Forum for information on "recommended" pumping systems.

Another area of treatment you might want to explore is the use of a vacuum erection device (VED) - a specially designed vacuum pump which allows you to pump up an erection and then slide on a tension band around the base of your erection to maintain the erection for up to 30 minutes. Your insurance may cover a lot of the cost: however, I found one on Amazon for $80.

You can also get just the tension band and slide it down your lubricated shaft (you need to have generated at least a semi)until it is pressed against your fat pad at the base of the shaft. Then kegel in some more blood to bring it up to a full erection. The Osbon tension band is, in my opinion based on five years of experience, the best for this purpose:image.jpg

I also recommend you check out franktalk.org, a forum dedicated to assisting guys suffering with ED. Lots of information on various ways to treat ED

Thanks so much for your advice and support everyone and sorry for the late reply!

@MrB8: Thanks, man! I’m going to start with a light Kegels routine.

I’m still not entirely sure I’m doing the exercises right, though. Since I don’t pee through my penis* and most explanations say you have to stop the flow of urine I’ve never been completely sure I’m using my pelvic floor muscles. When I do Kegels I feel my sphincter tightening and I feel (and see) the base of my penis sort of drawing in, as well as some sort of strain around my pelvis. They feel like less of an effort than the article says they are and I think my testicles don’t lift at all.

As for reverse Kegels I’m skipping them for the time being since I’m completely clueless as to how to locate the Bulbocavernosus muscle.

                  *In case anyone’s curious xD Google ·j´M http://www.vanderbilthealth.com/includes/healthtopics/getimage.php%3Fimageid%3D272664 ¹Ï¤ùªºµ²ªG
@To everyone else: Thanks again for your messages, they were very helpful . I’ll reply some of you later and ask some questions if you don’t mind.

                    I hope this helps http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...iosus-Male.png
As you continue to practice it will become easier to understand what kegels and reverse kegels are.
You can also try to contract the muscles around the base of your penis, and then try to puff them up.
                    Again, practice makes perfect.
