    I wonder if the date is significant

    --- This turned into a bit of an epic. TL;DR: Hello! I'm new. JP90 + supplements, edging ---

    MASSIVE PREAMBLE:

    So, although it is January 1st I've actually been at this a little under a week, which really does nothing to get the New Year's Resolution stink off the timing, but it somehow feels important! I think I may have approached this a little backwards before getting off to a better start. As the first thing I did, drumroll, was buy a bathmate.

    Yeah. At the moment I can't even remember why. But... well, perhaps I just like the idea of baths? Don't really have them any more, not since rubber ducks lost their appeal. And this does seem just the toy to make sitting in 80 litres of hot water fun again.

    To back up a little I guess the whole thing stems from EQ. Over the last few years it's been dropping off (more like drooping off, kaboom) and if I had to pin the cause on anything I'd probably say porn addiction. More on why later.

    While scouting around some health advice sites putting in various male health symptoms I happened across a phrase about why men suffer with health problems rather than seek help. "A low expectation of health in later life." This is exactly what I'd been doing. Some older people are going to snort at this and think I'm a young idiot, but the basic train of thought was "Of course my back aches and my cock is no longer what it was, I'm 30!" Yeah. Effing ridiculous. But there it is. I'm well aware of youth obsession in practically every culture, but that doesn't stop me falling for it too.

    So I'm reading everything I can get my hands on and end up looking at the bathmate. I don't really buy the gains spiel at first, but the more I read the better it seems. In a moment of pure 'fuck it why not' I find what I hope to be a reputable site and buy one. I even splurged a little extra for the x40, I guess I was a bit flattered when it told me my... er.. dimensions, required it. I know I know, flattery makes fools of us all. Kind of wish I'd looked for a deal as it seems sort of expensive (this was before I saw a phallosan) but it's done now.

    Or it would be if not for the post-christmas shutdown of anything being delivered. So while I wait I start to browse around and read more and more articles and eventually find the PEGym.

    Gotta say, fascinating place. It just seemed so unlikely that a community dedicated to.. well... THIS.. could be such a cordial and inviting bunch. I guess I have a few prudish hang ups. Comes with being British, alright? But perhaps it makes sense. After all, obnoxiousness and arrogance don't really go hand in hand with what is, at heart, a self improvement forum. I like the grammar code too. As you might be able to see, I'm a fan of words.

    Anyway, so I start to read about people cutting out porn. "Man, I wish I had the willpower." And then someone links to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiU

    It's like a goddamn light going on. I honestly believe I can draw a line from most if not all of my physical and psychological problems to too much porn. I've known for a long time that I've focused on it, used it to get out of commitment and relationships, hell, even the washing up. Can't do dishes now brain, there's porn to be watched. But I just never had a reason to drop it. Now I realise I had it backwards, drop it and reasons will happen. Or so I hope.

    So, 5 days without it so far... and the weirdest thing? I don't miss it. I think I'd actually started to hate it. I'm never going back. You hear me porn!? You're not the boss of me. (any more).

    So now it's PE. Energy that was in porn is now in this (don't read too much into the length of this intro post, as that is essentially accurate). I think it's probably a little like a nicotine patch, as it's also on the internet it's feeding some of the same behaviours. I should maybe at some point revise that a little and start putting energy into some other things too. My hope is I'll have more of it as time goes on. But at the moment it's been a good motivator to get organised.


    PE:

    I spend the first couple of days just reading and getting to grips (hah!) with the exercises and stretches before doing any actual workout. I'm basically following the JP90 as that's what everyone seems to do. I put an order in for some Bio Oil, stock up on a few supplements (Multivitamins, B complex, Vit E*, L Arsinine) and some baby oil. I wonder what the lady at the checkout thought of that though. You've never seen someone not have a baby quite as well as I don't. She probably just thought it was for masturbating. Half right, lady! I also make a rice sock for warming up. I recommend those a lot.

    Soo, Day 1. I think before I get to this I should have a bit of a trim around the bushes, so to speak, to improve access. As the antithesis of 'start as you mean to go on' I slip, and slice into my very favourite part of me.

    Fucking... yikes. Have you ever cut your dick? I do not recommend it. After shitting approximately all the bricks I take a look at the damage. It's THANKFULLY hardly anything. And never in the history of the written word has 'thankfully' needed such giant emphasis. A small cut about 1/8th inch long, a little deeper than I'd like (as if there's a depth of dick wound that you would like), it doesn't hurt and bleeds just a smidge. I disinfect (with vodka. Don't read into that) and let it breath a bit. It closes up nicely. Just a scratch. I check out my er.. "function" later just to be sure. No harm done.

    But fucking lesson learned. And if you'll permit me to update the absolute maxim of caution when starting PE "You only get one penis, so don't shear it off with hairclippers on day goddamn 1, you idiot."

    Later that day I do my first workout. Feels pretty good, but I'm starting very lightly. I guess I'm feeling pretty cautious. Can't imagine why. I throw in some edging too (one thing too much porn has adequately prepared me for) and isolated warm ups to stop what I perceived as a little bit of turtling.

    Same again the next day, and today.. first day off. Two on one off. Seems good for a start right? And I've added green tea, as I saw someone extolling the virtues of that. Pretty relaxing stuff.

    Now the really weird part... I'm already feeling better. I think this is a combination of cutting out the porn, the edging and the PE, but after just three days I feel pretty damn good. I've been finding it a little hard to get hard without visual stimulation, but once it's up it's the best it's been in, I gotta say, years. I could swear it's even hanging better.

    So now I have a new addiction. Thanks a fucking bunch



    A Few Questions From a Total Newbie

    - V Jelqs: I saw two conflicting ideas of what these are. The most common idea seems to be the sort of between the fingers stroke up, but the other was a sort of regular jelq to the left then the right. Oddly it seems to be the one move there isn't a good video of. Any thoughts?

    - Warm Down: I've seen a few people mention these aren't necessary, or might even hurt the routine. Is there an up to date idea on this?

    - I've not cancelled the bathmate, so that'll turn up maybe next week or so. Whats the best way to include it with the JP90? As a warm up, warm down... on it's own... on your off day? You know. Or do I wait and add it after the 90 days. Any ideas welcome.

    - I like swearing as you may have seen. Not without cause or at random, but it really adds to the vocabulary when you're talking about, for instance, how it felt to cut your manhood with clippers. Is there a forum policy on it? Because I can knock it off, most of the time, but it's.. well, it's how I am, and I'd rather not.

    - Any comments on anything I've missed routine wise would be welcome. Also, maybe some alternatives for hair removal.



    *My own addition, apparently for skin? I also read about it being a treatment for Peyronie's (A google image search for this by the way can really get you some perspective if you have a bit of a curve. I lean a bit to the left, like my guy has seen something interesting . Used to bother me when I was a teenager, not so much these days.). Anyway I had a reason, forget what now.

    And if you haven't already done so, please READ THIS Thread, Maximize Your Success Here and focus on safety, you only have one penis, take good care of it.

    Pick one of the manual beginner routines and follow it for at least 90 days to condition your penis, or until you stop gaining. Most members here choose JP90, start slow, and build up to the full routine over a few weeks time.

    Congrats on quitting porn!

    Check out this V-Jelq video.

    You can skip the warm down, however, I recommend against it as warming down helps prevent some injuries.

    Keep the Bathmate for later, until after you have conditioned your penis.


    Pay attention to your PIs, your penis is trying to tell you if you are over working, or you are in the growth zone, aim for positive PIs, and steer away from the negative ones.

      I'm a relative noob myself, but I'll offer the following anyway...

      * It's a good idea to start a detailed log, either in the Progress forum or in some other place of your choosing. F'rinstance, for when you ask the experts for advice and they start asking for details about your routine and your PIs.

      * Take some baseline measurements.

      * Have fun, keep reading and asking questions, PE safely, and see you 'round!

          Hello elijohnson! Nice to meet you, and thanks for joining us!

          Well, your questions have been thoroughly answered, and there's not much to add there. Congratulations on quitting porn. I'm sure you will appreciate that move even more as the time passes. The EQ and control will come back, just be patient. Long term effect won't change back overnight.

          Thanks for sharing your reasons to start PE. Sorry about the initial shaving injury, but I will say though, that is one of the most enjoyable, honest, and entertaining intros I've read, and I mean that completely complimentary.

          Looking forward to seeing you around the Gym. Aside from all the great info, there's also some fun threads to partake in. Join in, have fun, and good luck in your journey!

                  I took your advice swimdad and started a log. So far so uninteresting, but from small acorns... yeah. Also great big swinging acorns it seems. And acorns sort of in the middle. Guys, don't have an unrealistic expectation of your acorn. You just need to find the right... woodland. Alright this metaphor is done.

                  Hi TPW, yeah I guess it does look like I wrote this for a male audience, I should have said 'have you ever cut a dick'. Although that could result in some rather harrowing stories. What is this, Game of Thrones. Anyway I've been skulking around the forums for a couple of days prior to the intro. In fact that very thread was the reason I wrote the intro when I did, I wanted to do it before posting that I'd come out as Le Eyo, incompetent African God of Death which I thought was hilarious. Unfortunately someone got it first, good job the 2015 'You'll finally make time for your passions' answer was also funny.

                      Yes my first attempt at shaving was with an electric clipper and many little cuts scared the bejeezes out of me also. I now use a product called Carson's Razorless Shaving cream. I had to buy mine off Ebay as the local Walmart did not carry it. Working4It knows more about this product than I do, but several others also use it. It is more gentle than some other hair removal products. Enjoy your journey

                              Just this minute ordered some, as I doubt I'll find it stocked anywhere nearby. Looks like a good solution, I particularly like how it doesn't involve any sharp metal implements.
