    Where to begin?...Over the past year or so, EQ has been steadily diminishing to the point where when I'm with a girl I'm good for a few minutes, and then the (semi) erection dwindles away and have to stop for a bit. It's as though there is no feeling or sensitivity down there. It's frustrating and embarrassing, and I'm sure at this point some of it is psychological. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've had a full blown, 100% hardon in the past year. Mostly, it's just 70-80% at best, and then downhill from there. So I've kind of just reached a point where I need to make some changes in my life.

    While browsing around about my issue, I stumbled across this site about a week ago and been trying to do as much reading as possible. I've started doing some basic stretches and jelqing, and also went ahead and ordered a Bathmate X30 which I've been using for a couple days now. In addition to this, I've started exercising again (treadmill/weights), as I've been kind of lazy the past few months. I'm overweight (5'10, 210lb), but not morbidly obese or anything. I usually stay pretty active with the exception of the past few months.

    My conundrum is this though... I've read on another forum (nofap) that I think what I have is the equivalent of dead dick or flatline, where years of daily porn and masturbation has either damaged nerves or caused that additional layer of keratinized skin to form from all the friction, thus causing the lack of sensation down there. So, I'm also on day 3 of nofapping to hopefully regain some sensation/sensitivity again. However, I'm curious if the manual PE exercises and/or pumping is negating the goal of regaining feeling and letting my dick heal itself?

    Ultimately, my goal here (as of now) is to improve EQ, and if I gain a little length/girth in the process, you'll hear no complaints from me. So what do you guys think is my best course of action?

    And if you haven't already done so, please read the START HERE thread and focus on safety.


    When done correctly, PE will greatly improve your penile health and increase your EQ, in addition to size gains, but you need to be consistent, patient and persistent, please do as much research as you can, ask questions, follow safety and exercise instructions carefully and remember that PE is a long term process, don't rush it up.


    I recommend you first condition your penis by following a beginner's manual routine for at least 90 days or until you stop gaining - whichever comes last. Most members here start with JP90, and gain fine from it, being an intense beginner's routine, you may want to consider starting slow and gradually increase workload!


    Starting a journal in the progress forum is a good idea, to track your progress and get feedback, also for motivation!

    Pay attention to your PIs, your penis is trying to tell you if you are over working, or you are in the growth zone, aim for positive PIs, and steer away from the negative ones.

        Welcome aboard!

        PE is great for overall penile health and has helped many with improving their EQ. As far as having nerve damage it usualy not permanent, nerves will regenerate. Quit the porn, it certainly contributed to your problems.

        As mentioned above a good place to start is to do some reading in the START HERE thread that can be found at the top of the page. The JP90 is a great routine to start off with for most beginners. Start off slow and gradually increase over time.

        There is a lot to learn, so use your time during the JP90 to further educate yourself. There is a wealth of information here, do plenty of reading and don't hesitate to ask questions.

        The key to being successful is to be dedicated, consistent and patient. PE does work, but it won't happen overnight. The rewards for putting in the time and effort are well worth it in the end.

          Thank you for the replies. And yes, I did start going through all the links in the getting started threads and trying to absorb as much as possible.

          Pertaining to the specific question I had though, do you think I should stop all manual exercises and water pumping until I complete x number of days of nofap to regain sensation/sensitivity....and then start the PE regimen. Or do you think the PE exercising won't have a detrimental effect on regaining sensation? I am quitting the porn and masturbating for a while either way... but just unsure if I should hold off on the PE for now?

            You do not need to quit masturbation to get over porn, and PE does not interfere with your goals, so you are good to go.

              I don't "feel" like I have an addiction to porn...but who knows. It's just something that kind of became habit over time as an easy way to yield the end result (orgasm/ejaculation). I think I'll be okay not watching porn for extended periods of time. My purpose for the nofap though was primarily just to revive the flatlining issue I've been experiencing.

              Over the past 3-4 days, I've not watched porn or masturbated, doing some light jelqing and stretching (about 15-20 min per day), done pumping with the bathmate (15 min day), lifting weights, cardio on the treadmill, and also started using some of the Man1 Man Oil.

              Tonight my ex came over (we remained fwb after we split up 3 years ago), and it was farking awesome. I'm not really sure if it was a psychological thing, a result of the exercises/pumping, or just flat out being horny... but I felt like I was in my early 20's again. We had sex for about 20-30 minutes, and EQ was tons better (80-90%). I felt nooks and crannys that I hadn't felt with her since we started dating 13 years ago. We went to get dinner afterwards. She performed oral on me for a bit on the drive up to get dinner, and was able to maintain a decent erection. An hour or so later, we returned to my house, had sex again for another 20-30min, EQ still really good, and I was able to ejaculate a second time. We laid together for about 5 minutes, and I felt horny again already. We had sex again for about 40-45 minutes, but I wasn't able to finish the last time, as I was just too exhausted. For me though, it was seeing/hearing/feeling her enjoy it that really turned me on the most. I think she orgasmed at least 4-5 times tonight, which I'm not sure she's ever done with me in the 10 years we dated.

              I can't think of a more perfect motivation than tonight to inspire me to continue on this journey with the PE and nofap stuff.

                Welcome AngryPirate! Nice to meet you, and glad to have you here with us.


                Sounds like you are already experiencing the benefits from reducing masturbation and porn. Continually watching over time to where it forms a habit is where the problem lies.

                Over time, the brain becomes used to that level of stimulation, and forms a need for it to have a similar effect. When it is cut off, it takes a while for it to get back to normal. This, is your flatline period.

                Give it time, and abstain. There's a group in the Progress Forum called the AP90 (Anti Porn 90 day challenge), where it's guys supporting each other and tracking progress of avoiding porn. If you think it would help, I would suggest joining up.

                PE may help, but may also be difficult for the time being. Give it some time, have patience, and you will continually notice more positive changes.


                Of course, if you have any questions, or don't understand something, the great members here are always happy to help. Don't hesitate to jump right in and get involved. Feel free to ask here, start a thread, or start a log in our Progress Forum.
