    Hi Paul
    I'm looking for some help/ guidance. I have pre e and some ed and sometimes hf just started seeing a mens physio, this is all Abit of a minefeild. I definitely have some imbalances, been looking through your posts and seems as if you dealt with some of what I'm dealing with many thanks

    Yes there is a big difference between activating the abs and sucking in the abs. You never want to suck (and keep sucked in) the abs, this just puts pressure and thus weakness on the pf. where as by engaging your abs you are protecting your pf. posture is important, with weight distributed evenly between heel and toe. Stand very loosely bent over double and then straighten up your back. You will feel your abs engage, and also you will feel the top of your glutes engage. By doing this your deep abs are acting as a protective corset and as your glutes strengthen you can actually feel them protecting the pf. Then aim to walk holding this position. Think of your pf as bucket full of water, and as you walk you don't want to spill any of this water.

    Also, i guess you will have trigger points and tension in your hamstrings, a hard ball will really penetrate these muscles! 😎

    Hey i read some of your recent posts about muscular imbalance with Tense lower back, tensing abs, apt etc. I used to have apt but have corrected it a lot. My lower back is still tight and my weight leans forward a lot in my shoulders and probably feet. But i’ve found tensing my inner core (NOT sucking in my stomach, i used to do that) feels like it’s releasing my PF and lets me move with more balance and less stiffness. So is this what you’re supposed to do? Is there a different muscle to hold tight? Again, tensing my core i feel a release in my PF, but if i let go i don’t necessarily feel like i’m tensing my PF at all. Also if you would have any further resources to help with forward posture or muscle imbalances it would be much appreciated. Thank you and sorry for the wall of text haha.
