I thought I'd post some general information that I learned when I was 16, as well as some observations I've made since then, supporting my theory that a guys balls are an excellent indicator of our general overall health. Including sexual of course, but also our mental and overall physical health, too. I'll explain further, then open up the discussion for others to comment, perhaps giving your perspective or life experience on the "subject".
Many of you already know I suffered a testicular torsion injury when i was 16 playing football, but I learned my injury was likely a cumulative result of my participation in sports since I was 4 or 5 years old. My sports of choice because of my physical attributes & abilities, always seemed to keep my balls in "the line of FIRE"! I played offensive tackle / guard in football, was a catcher on the baseball team, and played goalie in hockey...my only break from getting my balls "dinged" year-round was swimming. Thank GOD for swimming!
Like most guys, I never gave much thought to my balls. After all, i received 99% of my "pleasure" from my DICK, right?...WRONG! Our balls can and should be a source of "information" & PLEASURE! Information about our overall health (TOTALLY ignored by MOST of us); and PLEASURE, once you "tune in" to the extraordinary physical sensations and emotional well-being/ confidence we can obtain from healthier, yes even larger, "meatier" balls (including but not limited to sex)!
Most of us don't give our balls a secondary thought, EXCEPT when they get hit, and we suffer that excruciating pain and sometimes even BARF! I've been hit in mine so hard playing sports that I've Barfed several times, actually; even passed out briefly once or twice! I'm revealing all of this, because my Urologist who attended me with the torsion injury, asked specifically what "history" I had with my balls! When I revealed the number of times I'd been hit, he frowned, and thus began my "education" about "ALL things MALE & BALLS related". He informed me that I had the option of two courses for treatment of my injury. One, which most docs recommend, was surgery to repair the twisted spermatic cords; the second was a therapy program he was doing research on to recondition injured guy's balls, stretch the spermatic cords and retrain the cremaster muscles to maintain a better "hang" in a more relaxed & natural state. Not wanting to cut on a 16 year old's balls, immediately made me LIKE THIS DOC! He told me I'd have to wear a leather "cuff" for AT LEAST a year, do my exercises, which consisted of massages & stretches that he illustrated for me, twice a day, every other day, and I'd have to journal how my balls reacted and felt / "looked" between appointments with him, including sex, masturbation, etc... To avoid surgery, I readily AGREED! Thus my journey began...
Doc said I was an excellent candidate for this therapy, because while it was in it's infancy as an alternative to surgery, I was young, healthy, in top physical shape (because I played sports year-round), and I was also 'well-endowed" as a teenager, making it easier and more "evident" to monitor results as my body reacted to the therapy. He actually said that to me, but I already knew I was "well-endowed" at least flaccid, 'cause I was bigger than ANY of the guys in the showers & locker rooms I played sports with and had been since JR. HS. Even guys 2-3 years older than me. So my Urologist took my history, from which he also realized I had matured sexually early, having full pubic hair & begun shaving my beard when I was 12, had been masturbating since 8 or 9, wet dreams when I was 6 or 7, and had begun having sexual intercourse when I was 15-16 (earlier that year). He gave me meds for pain, plus more scripts to take 2-3 weeks to reduce swelling and inflammation, before starting my exercises & wearing my cuff.
The exercises began to have a fairly immediate result. My libido (already through the roof~) improved substantially, and spontaneous erections were common, which led to several embarrassing moments in classes & the locker room (kinda like beginner PE!), but eventually at least my teammates quit ribbing me about it, as I gained better control over my erections in a few weeks. I also noticed over time, my balls felt "meatier" and heavier, like they were filling out my ball-sac more than usual, and my scrotum seemed to be stretched more. From my first appointment after the swelling no longer was present, the Doc took measurements of both my testicles individually, along with my scrotum "hang" & width, fully relaxed (he gave me a shot in my penis to relax me temporarily) and updated his records of each measurement every 3 months. As he expected, both my balls & my scrotum were showing "growth", but my Doc said I was growing more than 1.5 X faster than most 16 year old males. I felt healthier too, and my GF even said she felt I had a bigger "bounce" when we had sex!(LOL!).
Since the Doc & I had great rapport, we candidly exchanged information I had journaled at each appointment, noting the changes both physically & emotionally I had experienced while proceeding with therapy; even sex was included in the information provided. It was all "clinical", but still seemed a bit "kinky" to a 16 yo guy, I'll have to admit! The Doc & I had some funny appointments! I was one of his favorite patients and he was my favorite Doc of ALL TIME! By the year's end, he said I was fully healed, but he recommended I continue to wear a cuff whenever I played sports, jogged, or did strenuous exercises like weight-lifting to protect my balls. He said jocks simply don't provide adequate support alone. Guys need to wear a leather cuff, too. He also said I should continue the exercises and wear my cuff periodically to keep my balls (& libido) at their peak levels. That would benefit me ALL of my life, with healthy functional testicles, more testosterone as I aged, greater fertility, and better sexual satisfaction well into my 80's or maybe even longer! Decades later, I still wear my leather balls stretcher or "cuff" and have replaced it many times. My favorite is one with an additional balls-divider strap that snaps to the cuff in front. Feels terrific wearing it ALL day, having sex with it on, even casual "commando" feels better with my cuff on! I do that regularly!
The message here guys, is taking care of our balls is not only overlooked by most of us, but when you think about it, our balls really make our penis "work", and are a great source of pleasurable sex, if we tune in to our more sensuous side, PLUS, they are a nice addition to "the package" visually & emotionally, too! Share your knowledge & experiences (both physically & emotionally) related to your balls here. We can all learn from each other!
