Okay ya'll stick with me on this for sec.
Has anyone heard of or have experience with urine therapy?
A couple weeks ago I was visiting with my best friend, and his mother come home from work. Anyhow we got to chatting, and somehow through the course of the converstation, she relayed to me that she had done a 20 day fast a couple years ago where she drank nothing but water and her own urine.
Now as she was telling me this I had the same reactions your having now..... Is this lady crazy.....I just smiled and nodded as she went on, but really I was like 'what the hell' am I in the twilight zone here? She talked about it plain as day no embarassment, and said upon her completing her 20 days she went to the doc, for a checkup and he said her internal organs were in the shape of someone 20 years younger. I believe she was 65ish at the time.
Anyhow she is a sweet russian lady, and that was her story. So a week or two back I was surfing and decided to do a search about it. Well Lo' and behold urine drinking, bathing, inhaling, etc. is something that has been practiced around the world for centuries, and I found lot's of intersting info.
Like,.....urine is not a waste product like feces, but rather a blood by-product simply, and the toxins of the body are processed by the liver then eliminated via feces. Medically urine is call "plasma ultrafiltrate'.
Anyhow once I got over myself and the 'eeww' factor, and really read some things, it was quite compelling. I feel the medical establishment is like our government, broken and dysfunctional.
So I am open to alternative avenues. Now I'm not foolish or a crack pot falling for all things herbal or homeopathic, But I also don't simply dismiss things right out of the box because it is not part of the mainstream establishment.
So just curious if anybody else has studied or has knowledge about this, meaningful responses would generate a good discussion rather than just a bunch of "Oh that's nasty" type responses.
I was taken aback by my complete lack of understanding what urine is actuall composed of.
Do a yahoo or google search. It's intersting food for thought anyway.
An no, I am not normal. But then I hope I am never accused of being normal...I like me.
