Hi All,
I think this could go in 2 or 3 sections but I chose here as I think it fits best.
I came across this study where men were given very high dosage vitamin d3 and a normal dose of vitamin K and experienced an average half inch growth in length and girth after six months. Seems a bit unreal but heres the study
https://www.researchgate.net/publica...th_Vitamin_D_3
Before anyone gets too excited there's a few things to criticise about this study. It is a very small study (n=14). The author refers to the subjects as friends suggesting the robustness may not be that great.
The study appears to be self published and is not presented in a peer reviewed journal.
The majority of subject were older gentleman, although there were a small number of younger guys in there. One thing of note is that vitamin d3 has been implicated in better erections so was this simply a result of every man experiencing better erections as opposed to growth?
I'm also slightly skeptical of the underlying rationale. They cite anecdotal experience as the reason for doing the study.
The dosage of vitamin d3 was very high. I'm not sure about the toxicity of this. They don't provide any blood vitamin d3 levels in the study which is worrisome considering the dosages. I'd imagine you would want to know your baseline status before taking such large doses of something as well as ongoing review.
The toxic dose seems to vary depending on where you read. The dose in the study of 50,000iu/day is considered toxic by a lot of sources. Of course there are also some sources who differ and even advocate high doses. This is a point to be resolved before anyone considers trying this. The side effects of vitamin d toxicity are no joke and it's likely side effects will persist for a long period of time due to vitamin d being stored in body fat.
I actually thought the dose might have been reported incorrectly but researching the author I found other articles he has written advocating 50,000iu/day. It is worth noting that he appears to be a credible guy (studied at Duke) but also has some associations with mystics and faith healers. https://normshealy.com/about-shealy-wellness/biography/
Questions to resolve;
How credible is this?
Is this actual growth or just better erection quality?
Is the 50,000iu/day dosage of vitamin d3 toxic?
Thoughts?

My initial thought is 50,000iu/day of ANYTHING is toxic! Even 50,000iu/ day of WATER (if you could even hold that much, would likely result in DROWNING!
So, I wouldn't recommend ANYONE try THIS!...just sayin'...

Well, lets review the literature first before dismissing it. I'm skeptical too but there are studies where people were given 50,000iu/day for things like fracture prevention. I wouldn't jump into this now but it's worth examining.

Ugh, I forgot how bad this board can be when it comes to discussing anything critically. Anecdotal evidence is fine though...
Just to reiterate, I'm not advocating 50,000iu/day.
The study isn't great and has lots to be doubtful of.
I've written that and more already.
That said, there is some evidence that vitamin d can improve erections so whilst we may not want to take 50,000iu we may want to consider lower doses (and yes, I've mentioned getting blood tests already).
Look, your welcome to be skeptical of this and should be but going on the attack won't move this forwards.

I've taken daily 5.000 IU for a about 3-5 months without sun exposure and had a D3 level in blood of 63,4 µg/l. 40 - 60 is a good level.
Besides vitamin K2 it's usually also recommend to supplement magnesium with higher doses of D3. The body consumes magnesium while processing D3.
I have studied and...
