I am going to read up on the localized effect or otherwise & on the exact location of androgen receptors in the penis & testicles. So much of this (like you say) would depend on where exactly the DHT would bind.
I found some of the earlier posts (#5) interesting. Jackxxx doesn't seem to have dropped by for a while.Vulcan

Propecia didn't do any good for a thinning hairline (in front). I'm actually not losing any in back. But yeah, I did accept defeat in that sense.
I am using rogaine & tricomin (both topical) as well as revivogen shampoo. I seem to still be losing hair anyway.
If the biotin & inisitol kingpole recommended (which I am taking), don't work, then I may just throw in the towel... I haven't given up yet though (I still have most of my hair, but it's starting to get scary).

I was taking propecia and minoxidil, the propecia did reduce my hairloss significantly but the minoxidil however failed to regrow the hair i had lost. Saying that, my hair is thinning all over the entire scalp so really it is not MPB ... more general baldness which considering im only 23 is a bit of a bummer. I threw the towel in back in january after accepting that it was a losing battle and went into severe depression. However i have bounced back now and creating a new image and hopefully a bigger penis aswell

As someone else pointed out finasteride is Propecia. Recall it started out as a drug for controlling hypertension (high blood pressure). It does lower blood pressure to a degree, but it was found to regrow hair much better than it controlled blood pressure. Like most blood pressure medications one side affect was to take all the starch out of your little friend down there.
Before I started this protocol, would like to see some facts or studies to back it up. At present it appears to be mere conjecture. If you wish to regrow hair you would be better off following Kingpole's advise and using Biotin combined with other supplements. My own preference is for Biotin and Zinc. It worked well in my case, you must be patient as it takes time. It has the added advantage of not side effects.

Yeah, I'm trying biotin + inisitol as recommended by kingpole.
Unfortunately I can't take 100mg of inisitol, since the pills came only in a 500mg size. He recommended 5 grams of biotin per day, but I've been using 4x grams per day just to see if I can still get a good effect & make the pills last a bit longer.

Just to be on the safe side, add 15 mg of Zinc gluconate per day. This is the most bioavailable form of zinc supplement. Helps with hair, heart, wound healing and keeping your prostate slim.
Had never heard of adding inisitol to this regime will have to pick up a bottle and see if my tired old body can tolerate this amino acid.Start 2009/06/24 bpel 5.5 eg 4.75

More than likely your multi-vitamin has a less active form. Zinc gluconate and to a lesser extent zinc picolinate have the best bio-availability. If your body doesn't recognize the supplement all you get is expensive urine. The secret to zinc supplements is to take them on a full stomach, and do not exceed the recommended dosage. Zinc can have a complimentary effect on your sex life, if you have a good libido. Zinc will put some extra lead in your pencil.
Having said that, checked a few of the abstracts on inisitol and conclude this is a good addition to anyone's regime. Very complimentary to the biotin and zinc. Particularly for us coffee drinkers.Last edited by frb3; 09-07-2010 at 09:29 AM.
