Thread: Warm-up rebuttal

    I'm giving you a rep for the experiment don, even though I don't like the results.

    I propose another simple experiement that everyone could easily partake in:
    Measure your BPFSL before warming up, and measure your BPFSL after warming up for 15 minutes. If the heat can effectively penetrate I would predict a longer BPFSL after warm up. I meant to do this last night but only measured before warm up. I started doing some stretches and stuffed it up because that would have skewed the results. I'll try and remember to measure again after warming up tonight.


    If you're keen, on a different day you could do a control where you measure your BPFSL 15 minutes apart without warm up.

    I think you would have to do both examples (with and without heat) in order to have a reliable experiment. You should also probably need at least four volunteers, including two guys who are not aware of heat being or not being applied so you have a double blind test to make sure all bases are being covered.

    Hmm something that could skew results is if someone is expecting a longer BPFSL after heat, they might pull harder for that measurement. I'm just going to do the best I can myself for now, and recommend everyone doing the same. I'm not sure I have access to four unaware guy's willies. If this rough experiement shows anything a more serious version could be done later, with weights or a calibrated bungie cord.

    I'm still waiting to see if someone is brave enough to insert a thermometer into their urethra (Don't look at me, I've never even had a catheter. I turtle even thinking about it!)

    I'm sure there is some benefit from the heat, just not as much as most people think. After reading everyones responses, I may start doing a warmup on my squeeze days as I normally get some spots from my squeeze routing - if warming up prevents the burst capillaries then it would be worth it for me on those workout days.

    XitemeM - I'll do your experiment tomorrow - though I would imagine a better hang after heat being applied - though I'm not sure it would be because of deep penetration of heat.

    Has anyone seen an actual temperature where connective tissue elasticity actually increases? I would imagine it would have to be 103-105 degrees, but I've never seen an actual number

    I was wondering about this actually. Might not be too bad if you lube it up. I've heard of guys getting off like this

    Yes it would hang better from the increased blood flow from the heat dilating the blood vessels. The BPFSL though is a much more accurate measurement than flaccid hang.

    Actually, I think it hangs better from the temperature of the muscles. I'm not sure, but in any case, everyone can agree that the penis is definately responsive to heat. Go for a dip in arctic waters and it's going to virtually disappear. Come out of the hot jakuzi and you'll be swinging. A loose and limber penis is what you want to start with before your exercises, so in that sense it makes perfect sense to do warm ups.

    Those guys use stainless steel rods called sounds, not glass rods with mercury in them.

    I would do this but I encounter technical difficulties...When you stretch your flaccid out the skin of your fat pad also stretches out with it, so how do you do a bone-pressed measurement? the stretched skin prevents the ruler from touching the pubic bone
