Swelling, caused by bleeding under the skin would lead to discoloration and pain. PE'ers know this to be bad. Scar tissue results from trauma, which goes against the principles of PE
The smooth-muscle analogy is a poor one: The bladder is smooth muscle, but it is built differently than the tunica of the penis. Also, holding in urine is a an acute and short-term stress throughout the organ, so there would be nothing to gain from it except pain and possible injury.
Funny, but there is NO mention in any of this of the suspensory ligament, which is the key to lenthening the penis. Know why? Because it is an accepted fact that ligaments DO stretch!!
Beauracracies exist for self-protection, and inherently err on the side of caution: radicalism and academia are mutually-exclusive terms. There is also a monetary issue: why prescribe simple exercises when a doc can score $10K from an afternoon in a surgical ward?
One ray of light in all this: Dr. Sharlip calls for a 'real study,' any science, particularly medicine accepts principles from empirical evidence based on a scientific method. There's an opportunity here, but it needs the backing of professionals with the stones to 'lay it on the line,' Professionals like Drs. Michael Foster and Raymond Roberts who are associated with MeCoach.
Remember that even in this 'modern age' there is much we don't know, and still much conjecture, even among leading experts, regarding many of the inner workings of the human body.
Also consider that it is easier to be a nay-sayer than it is to say "Gee, that sounds like an interesting proposition: let's explore it and see what we come up with..." Many who think that way are more often than not first reviled, then later hailed as pioneers and innovators.
So cast off negativity and think outside of the box! You can expand your mind as well as other things....Last edited by Rockitman; 01-06-2012 at 06:35 PM.

On a serious note, I've never thought about it before but the afterlife will suck if you can't have sex. It can't be a constant "orgasmic" feeling either because that will dilute the impact of "nirvana" or "serenity" or whatever you experience when you cum, which is what makes sex so great in the first place; the day to day stress that causes us to appreciate the release.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread sorry.

What about the study performed at the University of Turin in which 19 volunteers used extenders for six hours a day for six months and gained, on average, 32% in flaccid length and 18% in stretched length?

I'm sure most of those doctors know enlargement works, but want to avoid any lawsuits or unwanted attention.

Well, x4extenders have been proven to work which is just another form of PE in general. The body adapts to forced change. Fibers which are put under pressure do have tears which get repaired. When the action continues to happen, additional fibers are add to compensate for the pressure. This also applies to lifting weights where we are more dealing with muscle fibers, and as long as one does not try to gain too much muscle mass to quick, one will avoid stretch marks on the expanded skin but the skin cells also will multiply to compensate. The body does adapt and the brain gives the okay.

Listen.. We are not selling anything here. It's up to you to do your own research. None of us really care if you PE or not. Clearly, we are not all idiots pulling on our junk and BSing all the people who come here for anonymous rep points. There is plenty of information right here in this sub forum to help you understand how it works. Plenty of theories as to why the general public, for the most part, doesn't care to properly address it.
Please, feel free to help yourself to the wealth of information here. Better yet, grab a ruler and take as many pix as you can.. Then do the beginner routine and post your results..The above is not meant to be argumentative, abrasive or confrontational. Take this and everything you read with a grain of salt.

This is a great set of responses and exactly what I was hoping for. Like I said, I don't have a particular liking to webMD and for those who aren't in the know, WebMD actually has high connections to major pharmasudicals including the makers of Viagra and Cialis, so them trying to weaken the PE argument is in their self-interest. They've been called out once or twice by the NY times in writing articles to undermine non-pill alternatives and fearmongering.
Of course, I started the topic to see what you all thought. My major real concern was the scar tiussue concern and the fact that collagen isn't as elastic as normal smooth muscle but links that soothe those fears were posted. Scientists are known to be hesitant to change, so I'm not too worried about their opinion.
I have no idea why you're so aggressive maybe you misinterpreted my original post, but great article links. You do realize if no one had any questions, this forum wouldn't exist! Again, thanks for the links man.

That particular WebMD article has been floating around for a few years. It pops up on their pages under a new URL- the old URL was available on this post (along with rebuttals and an educational article): https://www.pegym.com/forums/penis-e...esnt-work.html
It's understandable that some trainees will get upset at this type of article. Some of the vets on this forum were around in the days when the opposition to "do it yourself" PE on the forums was much more intense.
Always ask yourself this when you see articles like that, which contains no real counterpoint but engages in bashing concepts that require that we use our own introspection and the exercising of our critical thinking skills: who benefits?Last edited by Big Al; 01-07-2012 at 01:26 PM.
