Lol wow I feel like an idiot. can't believe I missed that post haha. Yea what they say about the extracts actually do make sense. I'm using some high quality stuff from a reputed brand, so hopefully I'm in the clear.
And yea the black mechanism is different I think. Nowhere do I see the mention of SHBG related to black tea, so it's not affecting your free testosterone levels. But I haven't look for actual method of action for the black tea. I can do that sometime today.. since I got a few tests out of the way now.

Are you going to take the nettle root extract at the same time as drinking green tea?

I have been drinking a lot of coffee as of late (I fell off the wagon again) rather than my usual daily green tea. Two days ago, I brewed a big pot to last me for several days--drank several cups, the same yesterday and today. Yesterday, I awoke with a woody for the first time in a very long time--months, at least. COINCIDENCE??? I think not!!
This morning I again awoke with a woody.
Long live green tea!!!Going411by7 (I was a grower; now I'm a shower).

That's enough proof for me.
Coffee has been leaving me feel drained lately. I was really tired when I woke up this morning... I had a cup of green tea, and I felt more alert and ready for the day."Know the rules well, so that you may properly break them" - The Dalai Lama

Yes, I'd like to know about your experience with them as well.

I just started yesterday. So I can't say anything about their effects yet. But both are supposed to be DHT blockers like Green Tea and Stinging nettle binds to SHBG that green tea raises and keeps the SHBG from binding to free testosterone and making it useless. So I thought the combination would be pretty solid. I do have the hair loss gene and do shed hair.. especially during winter. So i've counting the amount I shed everyday, hopefully that'll provide me with a measureable data for all the DHT blocking ability haha.
I was reading about the stinging nettle some place and it mentioned how it's paired up with pygeum sometimes. So I looked up Pygeum and it basically blocks DHT as well and it's apparently also an aphrodisiac and some use it for ED. Here's a direct quote about pygeum from a website
"The active constituents of Pygeum extract include phytosterols that inhibit the production of dht. Pygeum also has ingredients that reduce prolacting levels and block the accumulation of cholesterol in the prostate. Prolactin is believed to increase the uptake of testosterone by the prostate, and cholesterol increases binding sites for dht. Pygeum basically reduces the levels of DHT in the blood and reduces the number of sites where the dht can attach. This includes reducing the number of hair follicles where dht would bind"

Hmm, I see. DHT causes hair loss so blocking it is good.
But, isn't DHT better than testosterone in other aspects?DHT has approximately three times greater affinity for androgen receptors than testosterone and has 15-30 times greater affinity than adrenal androgens.
I don't want to block it too much.
