OK, I have had a minute to think ...
What I'm trying to say is that y'all, like me, have probably been using porn for a long time. It's part of your routine. I get it. It probably even feels normal to you. And I know you think it has no effect on you, BUT I promise, if you quit porn your life will get better. Why not do a little experiment and quit porn for 6 months. And at the end of 6 months you will either prove me wrong OR have a better happier marriage and life. Either way you win!!"with great EQ, comes great responsibility"

Don't even think about insinuating I lack respect for women because I said porn does not cause everyone problems.
I never said porn was good either. Don't be so narrow minded as to think anyone who does not agree with you is wrong.
I despise many things about porn but the addiction could be a week mind. Be strong enough to hit the O F F button.
Many of us did not waste years pulling Pud to porn. I spent my time working even though we had porn too.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

You wasted that minute because you still have no clue what I do. You don't know what is normal too me. Watching porn or not watching would not change fuck all in my life.
I work, raise kids(5), go to the gym and somehow keep my wife in a state of BigO and then spend my free time here.
Wish I Knew what time to watch porn was like.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

I firmly believe that staying away from porn is a great idea. I quit and noticed good results after going through the "reboot" thing. I had trouble getting it up without porn after going a few weeks without it. I think you can get off without a problem of relapsing although the whole community is weird as can be when it comes to labeling the whole thing. They say PMO (porn, masturbation, orgasm) is the enemy. Even when I watched porn I didn't always watch porn to masturbate. So that would be more like MO. Then sometimes I wouldn't ejaculate so it was just M, but they only say PMO is an issue, really it is unclear seemingly. I am certain it is porn. It does release dopamine. Masturbation does as well, but it also has the coolidge effect, and my experience says porn is an issue not masturbation.

Nearly all drugs of abuse increase dopamine neurotransmission. | National Institute on Drug Abuse
I think you don't know what an addiction is like or what it does to your brain BigO. Your brain actually adapts to it, and neural connections change.
How addiction changes your brain - YouTube
Here this example is with drugs. They have a nice brain scan at about 1:40 in the video. It highlights the areas of brain that are active in making you feeling good. It is insinuated that the more that is highlighted in the scan the more well off you feel. You can obviously tell that the brain of an addict has substantially less highlighted areas showing they have less pleasure in their life. Because of this the drug or thing that gives you the dopamine will be craved to get you to a more centered state until you need more. I really hate when people think that addiction is not physical, but rather just a mental thing that you could simply just will away. And this is for anybody else if they wanted a small explanation not from yourbrainonporn.com + my experiences.

Actually I am not that into porn . The ex used to put on a dvd between sessions, but in recent years ,certainly months could go by where I am just not interested.
Now if I was not carefull I could have a problem with wine, but my brother isn't interested in it. So I moderate my intake of wine, some shouldn't drink at all . Some should avoid porn, some should moderate use and for some it is not an issue.

IMO...porn is like gambling or something. Some are degenerate gamblers, others never, others till they have had enough.
Porn itself is not a problem...your response to it is.Cause I'm TNT, I'm Dynamite

Thanks Pegasus and BigO. First, I'm thrilled to hear porn is an insignificant aspect of your life. Second, my comments made personal assumptions about both of you that were wrong. Sorry for that. My bad.
Please give your comment "porn doesn't affect some men" reconsideration. You guys are role models. Just because I was/am a fuck-up, doesn't change the fact that porn, at some level, does always affect sexual health, penis function, brain perception, and relationships in a negative way. Even if the negative change is not perceivable. C'mon, you know what I'm saying isn't just my opinion speaking. There are dozens of resources that can be accessed to back my comment. But guess what? I still like you guys. Especially you Pegasus - you can take a sucker punch and be man enough not to swing back. And BigO, you have done so much good on this forum, you are just such a witty and likable guy - who could ever resist you? In turn, I promise to be more respectful and promise to try harder to make my point without getting personal. Fair enough?"with great EQ, comes great responsibility"

Been trying to find something worthwhile to say about this, but not sure I'm succeeding. The "x itself is not a problem" can be said about a lot of things, but for a lot of these things at least you will find a warning in society. For an imperfect example, I'm sure heroin can be used responsibly, but nobody deciding to try can say they weren't warned about the possible ill effects.
For porn, you don't really hear a lot of warnings. Unlike heroin, it's considered to be perfectly normal for a person to indulge in porn, and using porn is often encouraged as a safe and sound way of exploring sexuality. Given the nature of today's porn and the ready availability of it, I don't think such unreserved endorsement is a fantastic idea.
The way I see it, ybop is placing that missing warning sticker on porn, and that should be more important than whether or not they're 100% scientifically correct on all counts.

You can't control the high heroin gives you...can you?
I do not encourage porn.Perhaps older men are less affected by it as compared to young people who have not had sex?Cause I'm TNT, I'm Dynamite
