Thread: Shouldn't rest days be as important as jelq days?

    I work out alot, and something i've learned from that is that rest is maybe as important as the working out. Say you're working out your chest, you wouldn't work that out day after day without rest. Matter of fact, you'd only work it out once or twice per week to get the maximum benefits from the exercises.

    As for jelqing and stretching, one or twice a week might be too little i guess. But, with this thought of overtraining in my head, I'm moving to a one on - one off routine. I read of someone who gained well using this routine so i think i'll give it a try. What do you guys who've been here longer than me think? I'll do whatever it takes to gain some length and my experience from hitting the gym 5 days a week has taught me to not overwork certain muscle groups. The thing is, working out and PE are similar, but not the same.

    The routine I think I might actually get into would be like this: One on, one off, two on, one off... and that would repeat. So 1-1, 2-1, 1-1, 2-1, 1-1
    Sorta weird and complicated but i'm just combining a 1 on, 1 off with a 2 on, 1 off. And at the end of every phase I might take a 2 day off period.

    So a week would be: Day 1: on, Day 2: off, Day 3: on, Day 4: on, Day 5: off, Day 6: on, Day 7: off
    then, like every 8 or 9 days i'd take an extra day off.

    I do PE on M,T,Th,F and rest on the other days. I like having the weekend off and I think it gives me that extra bit of rest I need. I work my penis a little bit harder than what's recommended in the beginner routine because I like feeling a little sore when I'm done. So I figure I probably need two days in a row off.

    So its a good idea to jelq and stretch two days in a row?

    I was thinking more on the lines of

    one on, two off, one on, one off ... etc

    I'm gonna change to a schedule like Dingdong. Rest probably has as big an effect on growth as the jelqing. Noticed my hang is fuller and longer on offdays than after session on a workout day.

    It's been my experience with different kinds of training that, once you reach a certain level of intensity, your recovery abilities may not be able to keep up with the stresses induced by your workouts. In the first few months, you'll be able to work up to training 4-5 (maybe even 6) days a week. As you continue with your training and it gets more intense though, you may actually find yourself cutting back your training frequency. To make this easier to understand, I'll use hanging as an example-

    Let's say you start by hanging 5 lbs. for 20 minutes (this is a totally arbitrary scheme used just for the purposes of this example). Within the first few weeks of training, you're going to be able to hang heavier weights for longer periods. Certainly you'll immediately be able to handle training more frequently as your conditioning improves. But what happens when you start using 3-4x your initial load or more for longer periods? Hanging 20 lbs. from your penis for several hours total is going to produce much more stress and microtrauma than just hanging 5 lbs. for 20 minutes did.

    Another factor to consider is that a larger penis is going to require more recovery than a smaller penis if the proportion of microtrauma/stress is the same.

    These are just theories but they're based on my experiences. I'd be interested in hearing more feedback about this

    Big Al, Thank you for your observations. I have been wondering if that might be the case. I am in my 7th month of PE. I worked my way up to 6 and then 7 days a week (with "heavy" days and "light" days) and but have cut back to working out 5 days (two 30 minute sessions) a week. I was getting good gains (0.5" BPEL in 4 months) but have since plateaued. I am considering cutting back to 4 days. I have also started playing with an AutoExtender XSleeve for a few hours several days a week. I would be grateful for your suggestions.
