Thread: Kinsey Data: Shower vs Grower
- 11-04-2012 #1
Heard about a study, and thought you guys might want to know about it.
Penis size increase between flaccid and erect states, An analysis of the Kinsey Data. Jamison P. L., Gebhard P. H. (1988). journal of sex research. 24
I cannot post it in its entirety, and am only offering this information for educational purposes. However a link to the article in its entirety is JSTOR: An Error Occurred Setting Your User Cookie However, you must have access to jstor to view the article.
1st: Kinsey's study instructed people to measure the length of the penis from the belly to the tip, and to not stretch the penis. In addition they were instructed to measure girth at the largest part. Lastly they were told repeatedly how important it was to measure accurately following these instructions. Oh and Kinsey's data was recorded rounded to the nearest 0.25".
2nd: The numbers were taken from other studies that had frequency data generated from Kinsey's original data.
3rd: I will not post the tables in their entirety, but will post selected numbers. In total there were approximately 1000, and 1500 numbers analysed in their respective fields <_3.5" and >4"
4th: I will not post anymore than this from this study. I will discuss it if I have time, but please do not ask me to post more data. Get access to jstor through you library or college, and then you can read it yourself.
Data Grower Shower Mean StD Mean StD FL 3.17 0.41 4.42 0.48 FG 3.5 0.71 3.92 0.55 EL 5.83 0.71 6.5 0.71 EG 4.67 0.79 4.97 0.46 In the forward progress of society and feminism, masculinity (in my opinion) has failed to adapt. This has resulted in the figurative emasculation of many men. PE is not just about gaining size, it is also about gaining confidence, but most importantly embracing and learning healthy masculinity.

.25" seems a very large figure to round off too even if it doesn't sound like very much.
Current Stats
FL: 3.75"
FG: 3.5"
SFL: 5.5"
NBEL: 6.5"
BPEL: 7.3"
MEG: 5.51"

Yes it is an old study. However this is based off of the Kinsey data, which is substantially older. Kinsey's data is, I believe, the largest "scientific" study ever. The data is used by most sites that state averages. This study actually documented the methods used for the measurements, which have been very hard to find. I figured people might like to know the actual methodology utilized in collecting Kinsey's data.

My flaccid is 5x5 on average these days. I don't consider myself a shower...

Keep it real, you do realize that your flaccid is as big as 3-4 out of 10 men's erection?
Us guys tend to lose sight of reality especially competitive people, like you appear to be. From seeing your posts it would seem that you are in a warmer climate or have been exposed. Keep in mind populations generally maintain certain genes. Warmer climates call for more relaxation and separation of the male reproductive parts. Whereas colder climates call for tighter more tense location of our parts. Therefore it would not be unreasonable to assume genes from warmer locations would lend to large flaccids, and colder locations would lead to smaller flaccids. If you want proof there is none, however, if you study genetics, and more specifically epigenetic effects you could assume that there is some type of genetic control over a physiological mechanism such as maintaining optimum temperature for sperm production. In the forward progress of society and feminism, masculinity (in my opinion) has failed to adapt. This has resulted in the figurative emasculation of many men. PE is not just about gaining size, it is also about gaining confidence, but most importantly embracing and learning healthy masculinity.

Well I have no proof and I do not take this particular study too serious but just based on being a mod on a penis I would say the full difference between grower and shower is not made up on erection on average.

Responding to an 8 yr old post; am I missing something here?

King Arthur: This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.
