If the protocol is to wear the extender for a 6 month period, to see little or no gain, then why?
Manual PE exercises such as the excellent routines found on these boards will not only give the exerciser length and girth gains, but will improve penile function and health as well, in a shorter period of time.
Penis extender devices are both expensive and very uncomfortable to wear for periods of over an hour.

From everything that I have read, the protocal is to use it continuously for 6 months, which use will result in significant length gains, some girth gains, and strong improvement in erectile quality. It is important to note, also, that the gains in size are supposed to be permanent. They do not require ongoing PE for maintenance.
Presumably, you could use it for a year and perhaps double your gains. I don't know. I just want to present the results of my research and let others interpret it for themselves.
I just think it's important and helpful to have all options presented to a guy who might want to do PE.Last edited by another1or2inches; 08-24-2009 at 02:10 PM.

In one trial, the average erect size increase was 1.1" and flaccid size increase was 3/4" after 24 weeks wearing it for 1100 hours (approx. 6.5 hours a day) at a 1200g traction stretching force (roughly 2.5 lbs.).

I try to report research mainly from non-biased third-party studies. I include this report only for the sake of completeness. Dr. Siana is the developer of the Vimax extender device. You can draw your own conclusions.Last edited by another1or2inches; 08-24-2009 at 02:17 PM.

If you read between the lines, it is purely an endorsement for the "Andropenis." device. Andropenis to my way of thinking, paid for these endorsements.

Local Therapies for Peyronie's Disease
by Jason Szobota and Stanton Honig

in Current Sexual Health Reports
"Mechanical therapy with penis extenders has been introduced in the past year in an attempt to straighten and lengthen the penis in patients with Peyronie’s disease. More double-blind, randomized, controlled studies are necessary to better analyze these minimally invasive modalities in the treatment of Peyronie’s disease."

Extender device yields good results in Peyronie's.
in Urology Today
"Article Excerpt
Chicago -- Daily use of a penile extender device shows promise as a safe, effective, and noninvasive treatment for Peyronie's disease, according to results of a pilot study conducted by urologists at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago.
The pilot study enrolled 10 men with documented Peyronie's disease who wore the penile extender device (FS Extender, FS Physiomed, Aliso Viejo, CA) for a minimum of 2 hours a day. At the end of 6 months, all 10 men benefited with improvements in curvature, erect girth, and penile length, researchers reported at the Sexual Medicine Society of North America winter scientific meeting.
The objective benefits were accompanied by improvements in erectile and sexual function and quality of life measured by the International Index of Erectile Function (I/EF), IIEF-Erectile Function domain, and QOL-MED. There were no significant adverse effects, and patient satisfaction with the treatment was very high.
Positive changes
Changes in curvature and flexural strength at the proportional limit (FSPL) were all noted after 3 months, and there was continued improvement over the next 3 months of the study. Objective curvature, measured by penile duplex ultrasound, improved significantly by 17 degrees (range, 10 to 45 degrees) from 51 degrees at baseline to 34 degrees at 6 months.
Erect girth increased in all men by 0.5 cm to 1.0 cm. Four patients had a hinge effect on ultrasound and all four felt they were improved after treatment.
Average FSPL, measured from pubis to corona, increased from 10.65 cm at baseline to 12.0 cm (range, 0.5 to 2.0 cm), and the IIEF-EF score increased from 18.3 at Sexual Dy enrollment to..."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that extenders don't work.
I wore the PeniMaster device for many months. I just found that it was so uncomfortable and limiting as to what my activities could be, while wearing the device, that I put it away and devoted myself to manual exercises. I saw very little gain for the amount of time and effort I put into giving the device what I considered, a fair trial.

I agree, I assume these are paid endorsements, as almost all endorsements are. I am trying to be non-biased and include all doctor recommendations. I try to point out where there appears to be a financial connection. For any device manufactured for sale, though, you would expect to have paid endorsements. It speaks volumes that these endorsements come from urologists and not from porn stars, etc.
It seems that all of the extender devices out there today were developed by urologists or are copies of devices developed by urologists. As you would want a car to be developed by an auto engineer, a software program developed by a software engineer, a spinal cord surgery performed by a neurosurgeon, you'd want a device for your penis to be developed by a urologist. The fact that they get paid for it only makes sense.
I generally don't want to insert my own opinion in this thread. I intended just to include reports from third-party sources and let others decide for themselves. I didn't want to ignore your post, though.Last edited by another1or2inches; 08-24-2009 at 03:24 PM.

I agree, there are limitations. It's a huge time commitment. There are issues with comfort and slippage. Each person has his own tolerability limits. I'm not trying to convince anyone one way or the other whether to use an extender, though. I'm just trying to collect as much third-party information as I can, so others can decide for themselves.
