I get admonished and it makes me feel like I'm the rebel rouser. I'm not here to cause hard feelings. I am often going to be the contrarian if nothing else just to inspire a healthy argument. I've never been one to conform.

I didn't mean it that way. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Here is the deal and dispute it all you want but in the work I have done over the last 35 years I have seen it firsthand.
In your article there was mention of a person who died quickly from mercury poisoning. That is called acute mercury poisoning. By ingesting trace amount of mercury over time you get what is known as chronic mercury poisoning. It happens slowly over time. Mercury, like lead and other heavy metals, do not come out of the body. They cannot be chelated. They reside in adipose cells and in nerve cells and destroy. The longer you ingest those trace amounts you call it the more it gets into your system and lingers and causes trouble. Now does one cigarette harm you? No but 20,000 of them do. Now when fish ingest mercury from the oceans the store in and we eat it. Some of that mercury stored in the food we eat is converted to methylmercury which even your author says is highly toxic.
Your author states that the biggest problem with mercury is putting in the ground, polluting the ground. So putting it in the ground is bad but in your body it's not. Does that make any sense to you? Now when you put it in the ground it get absorbed by the living things we eat and thereby increases our concentration of mercury. So since we get some mercury in the water we drink, the food we eat, you think that taking it is okay and ingesting more food containing it is okay? Okay then have some more! The world's still a toy if you just stay a boy!

So make a list of all the foods containing lead, mercury and aluminum. Then add to that list foods containing any other "toxic" minerals. Now you can only eat foods that are not on this list. Sorry, pal, but your going to die of starvation. There are no foods left for you to eat.

Okay you just want to argue so you can argue by yourself. Go have some mercury if you want, in trace amounts, and have a happy life. But trust me if you promote things on this forum that I know to be harmful I will be in your face because we have some very susceptible guys on here and I will not let them get hurt if i can help it!

I agree with ugluk that mercury can be chealated. Maybe he can explain how that is done. I'm hoping he comes back to further educate us on the importance of minerals. He talks very intelligently on the subject. I think we all have a lot to learn from him. I'm also hoping that he addresses my questions about the Mineral Toddy.

Cusp, I don't think that I implied that anyone should consume mercury. I would never do that and if I did I'm pretty sure that no one is gullible enough to try it. I do however promote the consumption of fish. It is a healthy food. Studies have shown that rum has more mercury than fish so stop drinking rum.
