What was your flexibility training regimen like to achieve the full front/back split? It took 18 months of flexibility training for you? Can you do the traditional side/side split as well? I trained flexibility hard years back but was never able to do perfect splits. I just do flexibility 'maintenance' work now, very light and not really progressing to anything.

I have seen people train flexibility hard for years not able to do any sort of splits . Particularly males . There seems to be a number of variables involved particularly genetics .

So, I’ve been doing split style stretching and even though my range of motion has improved somewhat, I am *no where* close to being able to do “actual splits.” Despite that I have still derived huge benefits from doing those types of stretches/movements with the TRX strap. Doing them statically on a yoga mat does not seem to help me as much as the straps. Part of what I do is a deep range-of-motion stretch, but the majority is more of a movement exercise for the pelvic floor that is not pushing my full range of motion. It is simultaneously activating and stretching the same muscles you would stretch doing splits. And in my case the relief from this was immediately noticeable! It was not a cure but it absolutely did get me on the path to healing.
And I also agree on nofap being a useful tool. I don’t think 100% abstinence is necessary or even optimal but if the muscles you use to kegel are trying to recover it makes sense not to continue to overuse them. I am noticing the more I recover the more I am able to Kegel and perform bowel movements without upsetting the muscle tissues again.Last edited by troublehshooter; 05-20-2020 at 06:59 AM.

I basically just went to youtube and started following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZTGgEWPbLk
I did that every day except for when I had stretched to hard and it was to painful.
Then I bought an Everstretch door flexibility trainer so I could also do the splits standing up. I wasn't as consistent doing this as I wanted to be. I used the door hanging strap maybe 3 times a week. Also I workout/lift weights about 5 days a week and between sets (2 - 3.5 mins) I would just hold the splits position.
Once I could do the splits I also used to watch TV while holding the splits position for as long as it was comfortable.
And that was my routine. Nothing to technical just lots of heavy duty stretching with the intention of stretching/loosening my anus which was very tight.
No I never did the middle splits. Never attempted doing the splits this way.
Huge Tip: If you're struggling to make any progress in doing the splits or you just want to speed things up, give the back of your thighs a deep massage while holding a stretch. Dig your fingertips right in there and apply pressure while massaging. It can be a little painful but it really helps to loosen things up.

I cant make it through that video without an urgent relapse into lesbian squirting porn. Sorry. I do not have hf but you inspire me to do splits.

Is completely recovery (tissue, erection quality/size) possible? I’ve had it for the last year or so. I’m 28 years old.

What were your symptoms like in HF? Urinary pressure, difficult to sitting, painful masturbation? I have all these but no ED issues... Inflated penis before urination & hard flaccid attacks after smoking cannabis. Your split stretching makes sense, because flexibility increase will definitely help the overall body. I'm never leaving stretching again. Thanks!

I have a question for those who had ED problems with HF. Did your sensitivity return to normal? That's the biggest thing I've been struggling with, the dulled sensation.

I strongly advise everyone here to read my thread on cannabis induced HF and optimism. I have practically made a full recovery in a week. It’s not just marijuana, but I think many drugs trigger this.
Credit to Romero MD, stating cannabis can deactivate the Parasympathetic nervous system and increase your fight/flight response. I know from my meditation that certain techniques can activate the PNS.
So I have totally cut out caffeine so I am not triggering the fight or flight response. Lowering anxiety and stress is key. Anything to lower cortisol will help. I have been doing all the stretches, rolling out, RK’s, IC training and breath work. The breathing involves long, slow inhaled through your nose and longer, shower exhales out your nose.
Tight muscles are key, but since I’ve been doing the breath work my muscles are not that tight. I need less stretching and spend a quarter of the time rolling out as I used to.
The reason I think this issue is all about the PNS, is that I’ve even PE’d the last two weeks and have not had a setback. Morning wood every morning and full erections. My only issue is not lasting as long in bed but I will work on that with kegeling when I deem it safe.
I’m no expert on the human body, but I assume that when the PNS is so inactive, we are in a chronic state of stress which triggers these muscles around the pelvic floor to tense up all the time. I don’t think PE was the cause but a catalyst, and the marijuana in my case, was the trigger. Please give it a read and implement the breathing, as well as cutting out caffeine and anything that triggers cortisol.
Keep the faith everyone.
