Hell after Trazodone

Hello everybody,

on this site I have met many people with similar problems that are currently plaguing me.
That's why I signed up here in the hope that you can help me further.
I will try to keep that in a nutshell.

In a clinic during end of 2017 I took 100-200 mg of Trazodone for the depression, anxiety and sleep disorders I was facing.
I only took the pills for a total of 9 days and stopped when I realized that I developed a variety of sexual and mental side effects.
Today, 5 months after withdraw, I still have the following symptoms:

- Testicular pain, they were worse at the beginning and are now 99% gone, but sometimes I still have pain going from the testicles to the upper crotch.

- "Chemical castration", essentially no libido

- numb genital, the testicles are almost completely numb the penis is only slightly
better. The penis root feels numb and relaxed. It's like the connection
separated between brain and penis.

- The erections are not that strong anymore. It is a bit better if I clamp the pants under my testicles. As soon as I take it away, the testicle falls down and the erection fades immediately.

- The seed amount is still reduced

- It may sound weird, but my scrotum is more hanging now. I know that it has
something to do with heat and cold, but before that it was never so extreme.
The skin seems to be completely surplus (but no testicles shrinking)
It looks like I have the scrotum of a 100 year old.


- visible skin changes on the testicles: the skin is thin, shiny and wrinkled.
You can imagine it like parchment paper.

- Tissue change on the penis, the skin feels hardened, somehow "rubbery"

- Orgasms are a little less satisfying

I am a young man and everything worked perfectly before I took this garbage.
I masturbated for years 2-3 times a day, just needed to think about sex and wanted.

I know there is a ilness called PSSD that can cause such symptoms after stopping antidepressants.
On the local self-help forums, I was told it would be very unlikely to get PSSD from Trazodone because it is actually normally known to enhance sexual function and is not a proper SSRI.
Since I took SSRI for 2 years until the beginning of 2017 and had no problems during and after them, I'm very confused and frustrated.
My personal guess is that Trazodone intermeshes with the lower organs of the pelvic floor area because of his alpha-blocking effect.
I found exactly two other people with those problems after Trazodone, also people with PFS and various bodybuilders website report from smilar problems.

However, the Urloge could not find anything, he made an ultrasound, groped and measured prolactin and testosterone, everything was fine, testosterone even slightly increased!
I also tried supplements like maca, lecithin and *********. I am athletic and eat healthy. It brings nothing at all. Previously I only needed to take a teaspoon of maca a day and was the horniest guy.
Can this really only be the pelvic floor? Did Trazodon destroy me in 9 days?
It is frightening to think that 11 pills have done so much damage and I will never again enjoy having sex again at age 24

Trazadone doesn't last 5 months in your system after you stop taking it. Many people don't like the side effect of the hangover feeling but it goes away with continuous use.

What you're describing sounds more like general anxiety symptoms than anything else.

Sorry but no, I was a lot more scared before and absolutely no problems.
How should a skin and seed change be mental?
Now my fear is gone but so is my sexuality, crazy!

You took 9 trazadone pills 5 months ago. It's not the Trazadone it's psychosomatic.

Unless you're on some other SSRI, taking a ton of caffeine, or some other form of stimulant, it's anxiety.

Look at the other two guys with this problem,
they even have testicles shrinking from Trazodone, how can that be anxiety? My anxiety disorder has been cured by these 11 pills which SSRI did not do in 2 years. So theres definitely a change in my nervous system.

Are you sure it has to do with Trazadone? One of its uses is FOR erectile function. It can even cause Priapism. 78% of all users have improved function.

If i were you i would use a combination of cialis daily + horny goat weed + citrulline

Who are you trying to fool? There is no way you "cured" your anxiety disorder with an incomplete course of Trazadone.

For starters, anxiety disorders are treatable with medicine but incurable. People with anxiety disorders have to develop coping tools and take medications to manage symptoms, but there is no cure for an anxiety disorder as of yet.

Second, Trazadone is a NOT an SSRI. It's a different class of drugs that acts on serotonin in the brain but is not a reuptake inhibitor. It would not interfere with your CNS just the levels of serotonin in your brain.

Eliminate Trazadone from the problem and what do you have left? What else could be causing these symptoms?

I do not want to fool anyone. But it started with Trazodon. You do not know what high libido and sexual stamina I had, most men dream of it.
I still remember how the libido just disappeared on the 2nd or 3rd day to zero.
Suddenly, my longing for a girlfriend was gone, the fellow patients were no longer attractive.
Everything did not bother me, my ongoing poisoning fears were gone after withdraw.
I went to a party after the the clinic and was not afraid that someone would do me something in the glass, but I was no longer in the mood for women I once had.
I know that I am an extremely rare case, but these drugs can modulate a lot. And yet, trazodone has a minor effect on serotonin uptake.

First of all, stop using the "chemical castration" bs. You were having sides from trazodone. I do believe that sometimes when you get sides from something, when they go away you do believe they haven't. Your penis seems to suffer from anxiety like you. I took finasteride some months ago, and that day I had a weak erection but I was anxious af, and then I continued to have some okay erection although with premature ejaculation. Then one day the same week I masturbated with porn at night and the erection was weak af. The next day I ejaculated flaccid and for two weeks that happened. And then one day I skyped with my gf and she just looked at me in a naughty way and boom freaking boner. You really need to see an urologist or an endocrinologist but also get some mental help. Stop dealing with these things alone on f*cking forums.

The OP never stated he thought Trazodone was still in his system after 5 months of discontinuation. He's not necessarily as stupid as you make him out to be. We don't know him that well yet.

This is absolutely true. It would only makes sense that after discontinuation of Trazodone, there could be a number of negative effects on sexual function/satisfaction.

I know my body better than you all und I know too who I was before these pills.
Its definitely physical in the pelvic/pudendus and maybe hormonal/neurochemical too. Terrible drug...
