  • Soft/Deflating Glans Issue

    Hey everybody.

I'm a little bitter that my first post here is to request assistance with an injury but that's what I get for being stupid. I'd like to just say that I've spent a lot of time reading other threads on this topic but I just thought I'd add my own experience to the mix in hopes of finding a solution.

I started PE maybe 2 months ago with the newbie routine. With both stretching and jelqing I noticed my erections becoming much harder, especially during my exercises. During a jelqing session about 4 weeks ago I began to get excited and started jelqing a little too hard I think. I remember feeling like I was forcing AS MUCH blood into my glans as possible and the pressure felt ridiculously high. Suddenly, I felt a strange sensation, like blood was rushing OUT of my glans to let more in. I think it's since then that I noticed my glans has remained particularly soft during erections and I'm worried this might be a sign of the dreaded venous leakage I've read about. I should point out that while I'm semi-erect I can kegal blood into the head and it inflates temporarily before deflating again. Then again, erections have been difficult to come by lately (depression's been hitting me hard lately.)

Has anyone else experienced something similar to what I'm describing here?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem. I have soft glans as a result of poor masturbation habits. I imagine the mechanism of my problem is very similar to yours. I used to get so much blood in the glans that it would become extremely painful, our bodies likely need to adapt to this by creating more or wider "drains" for lack of a better word.

So the first step is to go to a urologist, and that's very important. My soft glans has made sex a somewhat numb and painful experience. If this is the same for you make sure you let the doctor know this. Because if sex is possible and not painful then they will not think you need any help, and you will have wasted time and money.

Possible treatments involve vein ligation, cock rings, and MUSE, an erectile dysfunction drug applied through the urethra. Some users swear by pelvic floor exercises but considering your background its clear that your problem has nothing to do with that.

Also refrain from putting any more strain on your penis in the mean time. Masturbate gently with a light touch, and If possible be kind to your penis during sex as well. And lastly remember that worrying will only make this worse, try to relax!

    Keep us updated.

Thanks. I'm sort of hoping my recent problem is a result of over-training for a beginner. I will admit it is very challeging for me to not stress about this. I'm only 21. I am hoping with a few weeks off, my penis will return to normal. Arousal has also been challenging the past couple weeks due to my depression and stress over this issue. Though I have noted several PI's that might indicate simple over-training rather, and perhaps it will simply heal on it's own. I'm beginning to think PE really just isn't for me.

It certainly may heal on its own, but I would still go to the urologist. Your penis is far too important to take this issue lightly. Who knows, maybe the doctor will know exactly what happened based on your description.

Also, you're wise to notice that your worrying is simply exacerbating the issue. Remind yourself of this often!

Can you explain the problem in more detail? Are you able to get any blood in glans without force?

So to further elaborate on my problem.

I recall one particularly intense stretching and jelq session in the shower which resulted in a larger than "normal" red spot on my top of my glans, which I worried was indicative of a damaged vessel. The spot faded in about a week but I suddenly noticed my glans was more deflated. I eventually decided to take a week off PE and start taking L-Arginine. After about six days I would wake up with morning wood with the glans inflated somewhat. After resuming PE the problem started again. I must confess I'm starting to worry quite a bit, as someone who has NEVER had an issue getting hard. Part of me may also be in denial because I'm pretty young and can't believe I did something so stupid as induce something as serious and permanent as a venous leak on myself.

I am currently applying hot wraps at least twice daily for 10 minutes at a time and have ceased all PE in hopes this will help the issue. I don't have a lot of money and I can't really afford to consult a urologist at the moment.

Take a couple of weeks off. Keep doing what your doing and things should return to normal. Sounds to me like you rushed your return a little.
Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

Thanks BigO, helps to hear that from someone with experience and expertise. After browsing the injuries forum I felt a bit better and thought I was overreacting a bit. I'm taking a couple weeks off now, maybe longer, and just doing what I can to help it along, e.g hot wraps, no stimulation, etc. Also using this as an excuse to start a porn detox.

                Okay so progress report.

I spent the past five days with no penis related activity at all (save for some pelvic floor stretches and reverse kegels) and saw a gradual return of fullness in my glans. Even when flaccid, a certain "firmness" returned that had been absent for the first couple days. Unfortunately I had to go and be a dumb-dumb and try masturbating last night and saw the glans begin to deflate again, following the gradual loss of my erection.

While this is frustrating, I am not discouraged because I have learned two things.
1.) Listen to the veterans of this forum when they say REST. It is most often the solution to all but the most serious injuries.
2.) Though I am uncertainly as to the EXACT mechanism that is causing this temporary E.D, I know it is not a venous leak, as I saw gradual improvement over time.

I am suspicious of a rather large vein on the left side of my shaft however. Where it seems to "meet" the shaft there is a small, but firm bump, not painful, but present. I also would like to note a distinct itchiness of my shaft while I was masturbating. To me, this is a P.I. that should have suggested to me earlier that I need more time to heal.

I plan on continuing my rest period with heating sessions including hot wraps and showers, with a few pelvic floor stretches and a few occasional reverse kegels. Now that I am confident this will heal, and the only factor is time and me not being stupid. Feel free to comment or correct me wherever I err during this time. I plan on making a gradual return to PE as soon as this heals.

Sounds great, I think I jumped the gun with my first post. You're injury sounds like it will heal just fine.

I agree with you. I've been reflecting on my first few weeks of PE and assessing the errors in my mentality. I understand that I rushed into it a bit and where exactly I went wrong. I've already learned a great deal from reading other people's PE logs. When I start PE again, it will be with a much lighter routine for conditioning that will eventually work up to the intensity of the J90 Beginner Routine.

                        Hey man thanks for asking.

In five days it will have been two weeks since I started my official rest period. However, I may wait a week after since I had that minor relapse a few days ago. Things are looking pretty good. I have been making sure to heat it regularly, including my morning shower and a 10-12 minute hot wrap in the evening, and have been avoiding any stimulation I believe would be strenuous, such as masturbation. My erections have returned and so has my morning wood. I can also get an erection through fantasy, which a week ago, I struggled to do. The numbness is also gone. I'm happy to see a return of some positive PI's but I'm going to take it slow for a while since I've read many posts of people who thought they were cured before they were.

One thing I will note, and only as a small question out of curiosity. For everyone else, when you have a semi-hard and you tilt your penis upright, do you find that the blood drains out of the glans? I mean it makes sense to me, since I usually haven't achieved anywhere near a full erection yet but I just thought I'd ask.

Well this will be my last post in this thead, while today is the official two week mark since my break began, I am pleased to report that everything is back to normal. Two days ago, after about 5 solid days of good PI's, I did a small PE session with 100 jelqs. That's it. Everything went well and saw no negative PI's throughout the day. That evening, I edged for 20 minutes and finished at the end. The next morning, I woke up with what I would describe as the most intense morning wood I've ever had, so intense I couldn't even lay on it because it felt like it might burst. I'm going to slowly work my way back up to the J90 routine and make sure I don't do this to myself again. SO NICE TO HAVE MY FRIEND BACK.
