  • Mondor's...blue veins...clotting..

Hi I recently found out I have mondor's disease, also known as a blood clot in the dorsal vein of the penis.

Without getting too much into the history, I experienced pain for the typical duration of the condition and now my pain is probably 95-99% healed/gone. I just wonder, is it not considered resolved until the veins return to normal? Because they haven't...so I can only assume the clot still exist...so how do I get rid of it? Or will it maybe take a long time for it to leave? It also makes me wonder if this condition can suddenly worsen unexpectedly if the clot remains?

    All answers are highly appreciated!

havent been. i did see my GP but he just said "its not thromobsis" and he didnt even look at my penis...he did recommend me to get a doppler scan though. i know i dont have trouble with erections but i just dont want this clot to get worse or do any damage or potentially cut off blood supply to other parts of my penis and mess up the sensation. its been 4 and a half months now and the pain cleared up about 1-2 months ago.

so all pain/discomfort is gone yet the vein/s (and clot i assume) persist!

Who diagnosed it? If it is the vein it shouldn't cut off blood to the rest of the penis. It should be heading back out of your penis. You don't want a clot letting go and heading into your heart or lungs. Go to a specialist and have the clot dissolved. They can be deadly.

            Penile Mondor's Disease

As per the abstract above, a few things stand out about this condition:

            -"Mondor’s disease is [a] rare..."

-Some findings suggest that it might be of lymphatic origin.

-Although its physiopathology is not exactly known, transection of the vessel during surgery or any type of trauma such as external compression may trigger its possible development.

-It may be associated with psychological distress and sexual incompatibility.

-Diagnosis is usually easy with physical examination but color Doppler ultrasound examination is important for differential diagnosis.

The link above gives excellent advice on treatments, but leaving your penis alone and avoiding stress appear to be fundamental to the process.

I have blue and blueish veins on top of my penis. One of them keeps being painful. I believe it started after I did some PE too rough. I treated it by coincedence before with a big dose of nattokinase and serrapeptase. It came back later however after I accidently spilled a drop of chlorophyll on my penis which is full of vitamin K. Does this mean there is a clot in there, if there are blue veins visible and there's a slight discomfort? How exactly did you identify the clot?

It's been like 4.5 months now, how do I know when I'm healed? Sure yes, the pain stopped aprox. 2 months ago, but I still have blue veins and even the dorsal vein looks like there *might* be a new tiny little clot (smaller than a grain of sand but I can definitely see it) and I think it appeared after a wet dream I had!

Is the condition considered "resolved" AFTER the pain is gone or does it only become "resolved" when the veins return to normal? I know the chance is some what low but I read there's still a risk the clot could move to a deep vein. I also read the real risk is in the first 2-4 weeks and I'm luckily well past that point. Still, I wonder if this is a new clot or just something I didnt notice before...or maybe its apart of the scared area from the clot and it's just becoming noticeable now? Fuark, I don't want this to get worse, especially after I thought I was getting better when the pain cleared up. I just dont want to risk another clot or worse, have one move to a deep vein and take my dick out of commission forever.

I really wish someone on this forum who has had this before could fill me in.

The issue here is you're asking questions on a forum- where even if a urologist were present to answer they'd very likely need to physically examine you to give you the answers you seek. Your best bet is to go see a doctor to get certainty.

Should I even worry that my superficial dorsal vein has a clot/s if I can still get full erections?

Probable Mondor/blood clot in dorsal vein (Pics this time)

                      <pics removed>

Hi I'm the guy from before complaining of probable blood clot in superficial dorsal vein. I had severe burning and a type of aching that started very late feb/beginning of march then later progressed into new veins appearing on my penis. This was accompanied by painful/uncomfortable wet dreams for several months. The pain did not get worse during erection but there was a slight lingering ache after erections sometimes. I quit masturbating all together since my symptoms started so wet dreams became a relatively common occurance. I also believe I'd suffered from Porn Induced ED for some years but that is slowly improving.

Anyway, I'd say the pain started to improve after 2 and a half months and then completely left by 3-3.5 months. The painful orgasms ceased not long after (although ocassionaly I get burning ones, ones that feel weird and only every now and then a wet dream that actually feels good and has no discomfort). I tried masturbating a couple times at the end of June and beginning of this month, July and both times the act felt very good and I could feel myself getting close to orgasm which I believe would've felt nice if I allowed myself too, so I suspect the painful/uncomfortable orgasm is exclusive to wet dreams which isn't THAT unusual from what I've heard.

So all my pain has cleared up and sensitivity is normalising (it'll never be the same though) so now I'm just left with this disturbing veins on my penis, particularly the superficial dorsal vein which is quite visible. I also think I can see one or two new anomalies that look they could be clots (or the clots that originally happened) so I suspect that they are either new ones or the ones that were always there but they have "scared" and are now sitting there permanently. I'm planning to see my GP tomorrow and get examined and then request I see a urologist but until then I was hoping some people here could take a look at my penis and give me some judgement.

And yes, I'm a grower not a shower. It grows to 5.2 inches erect, I'm not ashamed at all of my size, it's worked perfectly well in the past, I just want full functionality restored. More so, I'm fearful of this blood clot condition, I don't want it to get worse or some how cause me ED. As far as I know the superficial dorsal vein is responsible for blood flow to the skin and has little to nothing to do with the actually meat of the penis. In the early weeks of my nofap I started getting MASSIVE morning woods, huge like I've never seen before, then they vanished for a fair while then came back sporadically, now into my 4month they show up consistantly every say. Through out nofap my morning woods would sometimes be 80-90% hard and some times 100%, although the head woudn't always engorge and lately it hasn't. This doesn't concern me too much because I recall when I was younger my head didnt always engorge with morning woods and I can get 100% erection and engorged head with porn anyway.

So given all that, I do not suspect these anomalies are interfering with my ability to get and maintain an erection, nonetheless I still want this looked at and addressed. If it is indeed Mondors I read that it can take 6 months to heal although the majority of cases it took far less time than that. I also never had the typical pain on the vein symptom but not all cases had pain (i had pain but in other areas/ways). I just dont want my vein/s to be like this forever or risk another attack/episode.

                      Pics here

P.S, I'd also like to add that the dorsal vein seems to (mostly?) disappear when I achieve a full erection which strikes me as very odd.

Aaand another thing...when I take warm/hot showers the veins become much less noticeable, there's still the most affected section of the dorsal vein that shows up but looks no where near as bad when I have a hot warm shower. Not sure how cold water/air affects it. I may do a test. It's winter here though right now so I guess maybe it has the opposite effect of the heat.

One last thing; the photos do not truly reveal how blue and noticeable the veins are. It's truly ugly and unhealthy looking. It even looks like there's a new curved vein that bridges between the dorsal and left side (dorsal?) vein. There's another vein on the right side but its much more faded and seems less pushed to the surface of the skin. If you look closely you might be able to see what looks like a point/dot at in the dorsal vein that looks to me like a clot...maybe it was the original clot and now its just hardened or its a new one because I don't remember seeing it a week ago and it showed up after I had another wet dream.

I may make up an MS paint drawing to better illustrate when I actually see.

                            Sorry about that.

Here's links to the album.. https://www.pegym.com/forums/album.php?albumid=5040

Also I did some reading, it's incredibly rare but I read a few reports on middle aged men who had a superficial dorsal vein FRACTURE. Now what's interesting that once it was confirmed they didnt have an actual penis fracture (the meat or deep veins etc), they actually made full recoveries with conservative treatment. In other words, rest medication, compress/wrap type stuff etc...surgery seemed option and and in one case a patient had it so they could litigate the vein/tie up but a few others they healed on their own (i wonder how that works, how can a vein heal up on its own like that?) I also read wikipedia and apparently the SDV (superficial dorsal vein) is used for draining blood from the skin, so its not like its needed for erections anyway but I dont have issues with my skin luckily and all these men had no erectile dysfunction or issues having sex 6 weeks to 6 months after (varied by case). So I guess that makes me worry a little less about having a blood clot/s in my SDV but it still worries me that the clot could some how back up the venous system perhaps and cause dysfunction else where...although I did read that never seems to happen, its also a fact that penile mondor disease is under-reported so who knows...

anyway, the fact you can out right fracture this vein and still resume normal erectile function and sex life does put me a bit at ease.

P.S it should be noted aside from the dorsal vein becoming visible and looking clotted (imo), other veins showed up too. is it more lilkley they are taking over for the SDV or are they clotted as well? remember i never actually had pain in the dorsal vein to begin with, i seemed to have burning and a unique type of pain all over which is very hard to describe and accurately pin point. i suppose it was inflammation but i wonder why a clot in the SDV would cause inflammation all over? also my penis never actually LOOKED swollen but it definitely FELT inflamed and was kinda warm for a while. also rubbing it sometimes it felt very itchy and even felt good at times but this nice itchy feeling hasn't come back in a fair while. my penis generally only feels good when i look at porn, which i can suppose is related to possible death grip syndrome or more likely, PIED (porn ed).
